يا حُسن مرآة زها حُسنها

ما حازَها كِسرى وَلا قَيصَرُ

O beauty, mirror of shining beauty

Unparalleled by Chosroes or Caesar

مِن جَوهَر العَقل غَدا سَبكها

لا الدرّ يَحكيها وَلا الجَوهَرُ

Molded from the essence of wisdom

Surpassing pearl or precious stone

مرآة حسن كُلّ مَعنىً حَوَت

فيهِ مِن الحكمة ما يُؤثرُ

Mirror of beauty encompassing all meaning

Bearing the gems of philosophy

راقَت وَرَقّ الطَبع حَتّى غَدَت

كَالماء في الرقّة إِذ يقطرُ

Of refined nature, pure as water dripping

Grace inherited from virtuous forebears

الحسن يُروى عَن أَبيهِ بِها

فَهوَ لَدَينا القَمَر المبدرُ

To us, she shines as the full moon

Inspiring meanings that humble the dawn

منشئ أَبكار المَعاني الَّتي

تَخجل مِنهُ الشَمس إِذ تُسفرُ

Unique in this age, her radiant lamp

Illuminates the path for those who seek

وَحيد هَذا العَصر مقدامه

مصباحه المتّقدُ المُزهرُ

O full moon, you have brought forth a pearl

Envied by those of lesser fortune

أَنتَجت يا بَدر العُلى دُرّة

يَحسدها شانئك الأبترُ

You command generosity by your example

So give freely, as you are commanded

أمرتَ من نَفسك في بَذلِها

عَلى كَرَم فَاِصدع بِما تُؤمرُ

Through her, the soul's life is revived

Gladdening spirits with her nobility

عَين حَياة النَفس أَمسَت بِها

نَفائس الأَنفُس تَستَبشرُ

Had legends of her graced history

Alexandria and Khadir would pale

لَو شاعَ فيما قَد مَضى ذكرها

لأمَّها الخَضر وَإِسكَندرُ

By God's gift, eloquent pens

Have recorded her with cherished ink

لِلّه أَقلام بَنانٍ حَوَت

حبراً بِهِ أَنفُسنا تخبرُ

No pearl compares to this mirror

Of meanings - she remains unmatched

وَدرُّ مرآةِ المَعاني فَما

في الجيد دُرٌّ مَعَها يُذكرُ

Unveil her beauty, let it dazzle

Reveal the adornments that outshine all

فاِكشف نِقاب اللُطف عَن وَجهِها

واِشهد مِن الزينة ما يُبهرُ

See imprinted on her face, perfection

Clarified for those who look upon her

وَاِنظر وجوه الحُسن مَطبوعَةً

تجلى بِها أرّخ لِمَن ينظرُ
