My love for the tender gazelle is without blame
Our souls are sold and bought for him
My antelope with the charming wide eyes
I'm jealous of his cheeks from people's eyes
If only they were blind to his beauty's shape
So he wouldn't graze his roses and gardens
Except me to harvest his lily and lilac field
This is my creed and my cheek's religion and habit
And of my creed in love's law, I
Am jealous of the garden's roses for his sake
