فاقَ القَمرين

O perfect full moon

Surpassing the two moons (eyes)

اِفتنت دَلال

ذات الخَفرين

The charming one captivated

With her two eyelids

وَالجيد لجين

يا قُرَّة عين

And smooth cheek

O delight of the eye

لا رابك بَين

أَفديهِ غَزال

No doubt between us

I sacrifice myself for a gazelle

كَالغُصن رَطيب

قَد حازَ جَمال

Like a moist branch

That has gained beauty

بِاللُطف عَجيب

في الخَدّ لَهيب

With amazing charm

In the cheek is burning

لِلقَلب يذيب

وَالدَمع صَبيب

Melting the heart

And the tears are pouring

حَيّا الندمان

يَسعى بِكؤوس

Long live the one who regrets

Seeking cups

شادي الأَلحان

من حان قسوس

With joyful tunes

From sincere devotion

فاِستجلِ عَروس

يا بَدر شموس

Reveal yourself O bride

O suns of moons

أَحييت نُفوس

أَنعم بِوصال

You have revived souls

Blessed with union

يا ظَبي كَفاك

ما كانَ حَلال

O gazelle enough of you

What is not permissible

قَتلي بِجفاك

قَد تَمَّ صَفاك

Kill me with your aloofness

Your purity is complete

فاِسمح بوفاك

كَي أَلثمَ فاك

So allow your faithfulness

That I may kiss your mouth

هَل سحر جُفون

أَم وَقع سِهام

Is it magic of eyelids

Or arrows have fallen

أَم سَيف مَنون

أَم رُمح قوام

Or a tender sword

Or strong spears

في القَلب أَقام

وَجداً وهيام

In the heart it remains

Passion, love sickness

مِن نار غَرام

From the fire of love
