1. يا سَميريَّ في السُرى عَرّجا بي

    حَيث مالَت تَخدي نِياقُ الرَجا بي

    O my companion in captivity, come visit me

    Where the she-camels of hope have knelt down

  2. وَاِنزِلا مَنزِلاً كَريماً تَباهَت

    بِعُلاه مَنازل الأَحبابِ

    And alight at a generous halt, prided

    By its loftiness over the halts of loved ones

  3. مَنزل يَشرح الصُدور جَمالاً

    وَنَوالاً لِلوَفد وَالطلّابِ

    A halt that gladdens breasts in beauty

    And gifts for pilgrims and yearners

  4. حَضرة أَشرَقَت بِأَنوار قُدسٍ

    ما لَها عَن أُولي النهى مِن حِجابِ

    A sanctuary shone with holy lights

    Veiled from the forbidden of the pious

  5. وَمقام يعطِّرُ الكَون نفحاً

    طيب رَيّاه نَسمة المُستَطابِ

    And a station that perfumes the universe

    With a scent, its breeze being sweet aromas

  6. صاحِ صِح بِالرِفاق وَاِدع بِرفق

    دَعوةَ المُستَجير في خَيرِ بابِ

    Shout good news to the comrades and call gently

    The prayer of the seeker at the best door

  7. دَعوَة اللائِذ الَّذي لَيسَ بِالمر

    دودِ عَن نَيل بغية وَثَوابِ

    The prayer of the refuge-seeker, not limited

    From attaining the sought desire and reward

  8. عج بِهِ زائِراً ضَريح أَبي عَم

    رو خَدينَ الهُدى فَسيح الرِحابِ

    Hasten to it as a visitor to the shrine of my father Amr

    The plain of guidance, vast in expanse

  9. الإِمام الهمام مَن قَلَّد الدي

    ن مِن الإجتهادِ عقد صَوابِ

    The imam, protector, who conferred jurisprudence

    With links of correctness upon religion

  10. وَأَقام الدَليل كَالشَمس يَبدو

    نورها مُشرِقاً بِدون حِجابِ

    And presented evidence like a sun whose light

    Emerges radiant without any veil

  11. تابِعاً سُنّة الرَسول وَما قَد

    جاءَ عَن رَبِّهِ بِنَصِّ الكِتابِ

    Following the way of the Messenger and what

    Was revealed from his Lord in scripture’s text

  12. وَرِجال الحَديث كُلّ صَحيح

    قَد رَوَت عَنهُ في أصحِّ كِتابِ

    And the men of hadith, all authentic

    Transmitted from him in the soundest books

  13. وَلَهُ المَذهَب الَّذي اِعتمد النا

    س عَلَيهِ دَهراً مِن الأَحقابِ

    And his is the school of thought the people

    Relied upon for ages of eras

  14. وَبَنو الشام بَعدَ كُلّ نَبيٍّ

    فيهِ باهت وَبَعد كُلِّ صَحابي

    And the Levant’s sons after each prophet

    Shined, and after each companion

  15. وَبَدا باسِماً بِهِ ثَغر بَيرو

    ت اِبتِسام الرِياض غبّ السَحابِ

    And appeared by a name by which the smile

    Of Beirut’s meadows beamed from clouds’ veil

  16. وإمام عَلى الهُدى قامَ في النا

    س كَداود قامَ في المِحرابِ

    And an imam of guidance stood among the people

    Like David stood in prayer’s sanctuary

  17. أوتيَ العلم مِثلَما أَوتيَ الحك

    مةَ مِن رَبِّهِ وَفَصل الخِطابِ

    Granted knowledge as he was granted wisdom

    From his Lord and clear speech

  18. شاطئ البَحر مِنهُ للعلم بَحرٌ

    زاخر المدِّ فَوقَ كُلّ عُبابِ

    The sea’s shore from him is a sea of knowledge

    Abundant in tide atop every surge

  19. لَيسَ سيّان ذاكَ ملحٌ أجاج

    وَهوَ عَذب الوُرود غَير عذابِ

    That is not equal, one being bitter brine

    And it freshwater roses without harm

  20. منهل لا تَزال ظَمأى الأَماني

    مِن نَداه تروى بِخَير شَرابِ

    A spring you the hopeful continue to quench

    Thirsts of wishes with the best drink

  21. لُذ بِهِ أَيُّها المُؤمّل فَوزاً

    وَنَجاةً مِن الأُمور الصِعابِ

    Delight in it, O aspirant, for success

    And salvation from tribulations

  22. وَتوسّل بِهِ إِلى اللَّه مَولا

    كَ وَقل يا مفتّح الأَبوابِ

    And seek nearness through it to God, your Master

    And say: O Opener of doors

  23. واِرجُ عزّاً بخفض أَجنحة الذُل

    لِ عَسى أَن تَنال رَفع الحِجابِ

    And hope for honor by lowering the wings of humiliation

    Perhaps you may attain raising of the veil

  24. نادِهِ تلقَ مِن ناده مُجيباً

    لا تَقُل هَل دُعايَ غَير مُجابِ

    Call unto Him and you will receive from the One called

    Do not say your prayer is unanswered

  25. يا فُرات الندى إِلَيك وَإِلّا

    فَنَدى مَن سِواكَ لَمع سَرابِ

    O Euphrates of dew, to you and else

    Dew of others is mirage gleam

  26. يا إِمامَ الهُدى بِبابك مَلهو

    فٌ طَريحٌ مُلقىً عَلى الأَعتابِ

    O imam of guidance, at your door lies prostrated

    Discarded, thrown upon the threshold

  27. يا غَياث الوَرى وَغَيث العَطايا

    وَمنيع الذرى وَسامي الجَنابِ

    O succor of people and rain of gifts

    And protector of the lowly and sublime in worth

  28. كُن شَفيعي لَدى المُهيمن يا مَن

    هُوَ أَدنى إِلَيهِ مِن قَوس قابِ

    Be my intercessor with the Overseer, O you

    Closer to Him than a bow’s breadth

  29. وَأَجِرني مِن حادِثاتٍ دَهَتني

    وَرَمَتني بِأَسهُمٍ وَحِرابِ

    And save me from occurrences that have shaken me

    And aimed at me with arrows and warfare

  30. لَستُ أَقوى عَلى تَحَمُّل ضَيمٍ

    قلَّ صَبري بِهِ وَجَلَّ مُصابي

    I cannot withstand injustice, my patience with it scarce

    And my affliction grave

  31. أَفَأغدو فَريسةً لِزَماني

    وَأَنا مِنكَ في حِمى لَيث غابِ

    Shall I become prey to my time

    While I am under your protection, lion absent
