اِنظر مَناقب فَرقدَي فَلكِ التُقى

تَجد الزَمان شُيوخَهُ شُبّانهُ

Look at the virtues of Farqadi's heaven, abode of piety,

You will find the old men of time are its youth.

فَأل السَلامة في سَليم زانه

سَعد بِسَعد الدين لاحَ قِرانهُ

So greetings of well-being to its wholesome adornment,

Saad, blessed with Saad al-Deen's company.

شَهمان كُلّ مِنهُما بَلغ العُلى

بِالفَضل وَاِفتَخَرت بِهِ أَقرانهُ

Two noble men, each reaching the heights

With excellence, proud of his peers.

وَرث الكَمال عَن الجُدود وَإِنَّما

يَرث الكَمال مِن الوَرى أَخدانهُ

Inheriting perfection from ancestors, for indeed,

Only the gentle inherit gentility from the world.

فَهُما كَشَهر الصَوم إِذ نسبا لَهُ

وَالعام خَير شُهوره رَمَضانهُ

They are like the month of fasting, attributed to it,

And the year's best months are its Ramadan.

رَجَحا بِقسطاس النُهى فَتَمَيّزا

وَالعَقل يسعد رَبّه رُجحانهُ

They excelled with the balance of guidance, and so stood out,

And the mind gladdens its Lord when tipping the scales.

كُلٌّ حَوى وَصف الرُجولة إِذ بَدا

في طرس خَدّيهِ لَنا عُنوانهُ

Each embodied manly virtues when appearing

In the cheek's freshness, displaying our symbol for us.

فَعذار ذاكَ وَذا يُبشّر بِالهَنا

أنَّ الرَبيع أَتى وَطابَ زَمانهُ

So their chastity foretells happiness

That spring has come and times are good.

وَإِذا نَظَرت كِلَيهما بِتَأَمُّلٍ

أرّخته رَوضاً بَدا رَيحانهُ

And if you look closely at them both

You date it as a garden with the scent of flowers.
