They blame me for losing my composure over a beloved,

Yet the radiance of a beautiful face is an excuse.

So I ask my critics to excuse me for the wine of her love,

When they have not tasted my cup, nor understood my state.

They rejected my passion, rapture and intoxication,

Yet, by my life, passionate lovers have the best excuse!

Veiled in the cloak of ignorance about her beauty's love,

They know not that passion itself is my excuse.
