فتنتَ الغيدا بالقدّ

جملتَ الجيدا بالعقد

You adorned the neck with a necklace

And decorated the body with jewelry

فاطلق تقييداً بالخدّ

تشهده توريدا

So release the shackles from the cheek

Witnessing its flow

صبغة الله

فامنن إنعاماً بالقرب

The color of God

So bestow favor with nearness

واطفء إضراماً بالقلب

واكشف أوهاماً بالحجب

And extinguish inflammation with the heart

And uncover delusions with barriers

فالهجران داما

حسبي الله

For separation persisted

God suffices me

روح الأرواح والأسما

لوح الألواح بالأسما

Spirit of spirits and heavens

Tablet of tablets in the heavens

هند السواح بل أسمى

مدامتي راحي

Indian of the plateau, nay loftier

My eternal comfort

بل هو الله

برق الأحباب خبّرني

Nay, He is God

Lightning of loved ones, inform me

عند الأعتاب فاذكرني

لعلّ ما بي بشّرني

At the doorsteps, so remember me

Perhaps what's in me may give me good tidings

بلغت آرابي

فعسى الله

That I reached my resting place

So perhaps God

هبّت نسمات الأسحار

وافت أوقات الأثمار

The breezes of dawn blew

The times of fruits arrived

طابت نغمات الأوتار

في القلب نفحات

The melodies of the strings smelled sweet

Blowing in the heart
