  1. قم هات لي كأس السماع

    موحّداً على المثاني

    Come, bring me the cup of hearing,

    In harmony with melodies,

  2. مثنى ثلاثٌ ورباع

    فالأنس بالألحان حان

    Couplets two and three and four,

    For the joy of tunes has come.

  3. خمر اللقا لي قد سقى غصن نقا

    بمعطف الإحسان لان

    The wine of meeting has been poured for me by a tender branch,

    Clothed in the mantle of kindness it flows.

  4. إذا سرى عرف النسيم

    يهدي من البشر البشر

    When the breeze blows gently,

    It brings human to human,

  5. يروي عن الحبّ القديم

    حديث سلمى في السحر

    And tells of the old love,

    The tale of Salma at dawn.

  6. قد عبقا فانتشقا صبّ التقى

    من طيبه عطر الحسان

    They exuded fragrance and burst forth, the sincerity of devotion

    Poured from it the scent of beauty.

  7. وقد صفا خمر الصفا

    يجليه في الحان النديم

    The wine of purity is now clear,

    Made so by the songs of the boon companion.

  8. وفكّ أختام الخفا

    فأنار عن نار الكليم

    And it has unsealed the seals of secrecy,

    Illuminated by the fire of Sinai.

  9. وقد رقى في مرتقى

    أوج ارتقا لطور سيناء العيان

    It has ascended to the highest ascent,

    And reached the peak of the mount of enlightenment.

  10. ريح الصبا جُز بالخيام

    واحمل شذا عرف الشميم

    The morning breeze, draw up the tents,

    And carry the fragrance of the zephyr.

  11. متعشّقاً للملتقى

    حيث سقى في حبّها صافي الدنان

    Enamored of the meeting place,

    Where in its love the fresh springs have poured.
