  1. نور بدري لاح في بروج الهالات

    وجلا الأقداح من معين الكاسات

    Moonlight shone in the mansions of splendor,

    And cups gleamed from the fountain of chalices,

  2. عندما الفتح ناداني

    تعطّرت أرواح أدناني للذات

    When the Conqueror called me,

    My soul was scented for the essence.

  3. ذاتي ذاتي

    بمعاني الصفاتِ

    My essence, my essence

    With the meanings of attributes.

  4. حسن ذات النور يجلَى بمرائيه

    وأضا الديجور إذ كان الرائي هي

    The essence of light appears in its mirrors,

    And the mornings shine when the seer is she.

  5. صار قلبي طور أكواني في قربه

    مسرورٌ في عين تنائيه

    My heart became a cosmos in His nearness,

    Delighted in an eye of its creation.

  6. إيهِ إيهِ

    لخطاب معانيه

    Oh! Oh!

    For the address of its meanings.

  7. أنس جامي دام بمسرّات يسري

    وانسجامي هام في سما سرّي يسري

    Intimate companionship with delights flowed on,

    And my harmony wandered in a secret sky.

  8. سورة الأنعام أقراني في حضرة الإنعام

    أقراني في سرّي

    Surat Al-An'am paired me in the presence of blessing,

    Paired me in my secret, my secret.

  9. سرّي سرّي

    يا أعيني قرى

    Oh my eyes inhabit a village.

    The bestower of goodness prayed for pure souls,

  10. صلّى ذو الإحسان لطيب الأرواح

    ورفيق ثان وعمر ذي الإيضاحِ

    And a second companion, the elucidator of life,

    The collector of the Quran, Uthman,

  11. جامع القرآن عثمان

    والمرتض إنسان أعيان الأفراحِ

    And Al-Murtada, the ideal of joys.

    My ease, my ease,

  12. راحي راحي

    طاب فيهم تمداحي

    My praise was purified through them.

    O manifestation of beauty and place of perfection,

  13. يا مظهر الحسن ومجلى الجمال

    ومطلع البدر بأفق الكمال

    Rising moon on the horizon of completeness,

    Be gentle with one whose age has departed and become rigid,

  14. رفقاً بمن عاف الوسن وجدا

    ظهرت للصبّ بعين الغزال

    You appeared to the youth with the eye of a gazelle,

    And eyelash arrows like arrows.

  15. ومقلة أهدابها كالنبال

    حتّى غدا طول المدى عبدا

    Until the long distance became a slave.

    You adorned the beautiful neck with scattered pearls,

  16. حلّيت جيد الغيد درّ اللآل

    به غلت فينا الغواني الغوال

    Through it the passions stirred in us,

    So you revealed what necklaces you possessed.

  17. فأبرزت ما أحرزت عقدا

    ذاتٌ هي الشمس ونحن الظلال

    An essence, it is the sun and we are the shadows,

    Truly magnificent and we are examples,

  18. حقيقةً جلت ونحن المثال

    فافرق تشاهد جمعها فردا

    So witness its collection as one.

    For multitude and plurality are like imagination,

  19. فالجمع والكثرة مثل الخيال

    وما سوى التوحيد فهو المحال

    And whatever is other than oneness is impossible.

    To me, neither sons nor Sa'd have,

  20. عندي فما لبنى ولا سعدى

    صلّي وسلّم ربّنا ذو الجلال

    Pray and send peace from the Lord of Majesty,

    Upon the guidance and the best house,

  21. على الهدى وآله خير آل

    ما بهم نهج الهدى نهدَى

    Through them we were guided to the path of guidance.
