عرائسُ حسنٍ بالجمال تجلّتِ

بعقد لآلٍ بالكمال تحلّتِ

Beauties of beauty appeared adorned

With a necklace of rubies perfected

وقد وردت والوارداتُ تزفّها

بمجلَى تَجلِّي الحسنِ فوق منصّةِ

And she came adorned while the adorned were brought

In the assembly of the beauty's manifestation upon a platform

لها خلعٌ من نسج حال خلاعةٍ

بتلوين لبس الحال في كلّ صورة

She has a robe made from the fabric of a bare state

With the dressing of states in every image

هي البكر بنت الفكر حال مذاقها

عجوزٌ تُرى شمطاء عين فتيّة

She is the virgin, daughter of thought, her state is tasted

An old woman appearing youthful in the eye of a young one

تلوح عليها نشأة الذكر إن بدت

تُرنّحُ أعطافَ النشاوَى بنشأة

Upon her the growth of mention appears if she emerges

She sways the branches of saplings with youthfulness

كأنّ الصَبا راحت تروّح غصنها

تلاعبها إذ تنثني كالأسنّة

As if the morning breeze went to scent its branch

Playing with it as it bends like the myrtle

كأنّ الحميّا باحمرار خدودها

تدير على العشّاق صهباء خمرة

As if the redness of her cheeks is the sun

Circling for the lovers a clear wine

لعمرك ما كأس الحميّا إذا صفا

سواها ولا ريح الصَبا في الحقيقة

By your life, neither the cup of the sun when clear

Nor the morning breeze in reality equals her

هي الراح والريحان والروح والشذا

هي الروح والأرواح إن هيَ هبّت

She is the comfort, the basil, the spirit and the passion

She is the spirit and the souls if she blows

هي الكاس بل والطاس والجام ممتلي

مداماً هي الدنّ المصفّى بحانة

She is the cup and even the bowl and the filled cup

The refined liquor, she is the tavern

تجلّت لنا في حضرةٍ أحديّةٍ

تراءت بمرأى واحديّةِ كثرة

She appeared to us in the presence of oneness

Appearing in the sight of oneness of multitude

فسلمَى ودعدٌ والرباب وزينب

وليلى وهندٌ مع جميل بثينة

So Salma, Dudd, Rabab, and Zainab

And Leila, Hind, with beautiful Buthaina

إشاراتُ عشّاقٍ عباراتُ ذائقٍ

مجاراة أشواقٍ مباراة صبوة

Are signs of lovers, expressions of connoisseurs

Rivalry of passions, rivalry of ardour

وموردها تلوين حالٍ ممكّنٍ

ومشهدها تعيين عينٍ بصيرة

And her pasture is the colouring of an enabled state

And her scene is the determination of an insightful eye

حقائقُ أسماءٍ رقائقُ مظهرٍ

دقائقُ أنباءٍ تشير لحضرة

Realities of names, subtleties of appearance

Subtleties of news pointing to the presence

مراتعُ غزلانٍ مرابعُ جؤذرٍ

جوامعُ عرفانٍ طوالعُ همة

Pastures of gazelles, lairs of partridges

Sanctuaries of gnosis, rises of ambition

نوابغُ سحبانٍ سوائغ موردٍ

سوابغ أردانٍ مسابغ خلعة

Marvels of clouds, pure drinks of a spring

Perfect dresses, perfect robes

مراماتُ أحوالٍ مقاماتُ رتبة

محاماةُ أهوالٍ مناماتُ يقظة

Goals of states, positions of rank

Taking heed of terrors, times of vigilance

ومطلعها من أفق أفلاك حضرةٍ

تمدّ لنا ظلّ البقا في الظهيرة

And her rise is from the horizon of the presence's orbit

Extending for us the shade of eternity at noon

ومنبعها استعدادُ صبٍّ مؤهّلٍ

ومشرعُها استمدادُ صدقِ الطويّة

And her source is the preparedness of sincere pouring

And its opener is the borrowing of the fold's truthfulness

مجالي جمال في بطون جلالةٍ

معالي كمالٍ في ظهور جلالة

Spaces of beauty in the insides of majesty

Sublimities of perfection in the appearances of majesty

تجلّي صفاتٍ عند أسماء ذاته

تحلّي هباتٍ ضمن أفعال حكمة

Manifestation of attributes with His names

Adornment of gifts within the acts of wisdom

وما الوصف والأسما سوى الذات إن تكن

لفرق اعتبار الجمع حكم عبارة

And the description and the names are none but the essence if you are

For the distinction of considering the collection a grammatical expression

فحقّق هداك الله أسماءه العلى

ترى الاسم منها جامعاً للبقيّة

So may God guide you to realize His supreme names

You see the name amongst them inclusive of the remainder

جمال جلالٍ كلّها عند فرقها

يمينٌ شمالٌ جمعها سرّ قبضة

The beauty of all majesty, when distinguished

Right, left, the secret of grasping them together

وكلتا يدي ربّي يمينٌ وإنّما

شمال ضلال الحجب عين القطيعة

And both hands of my Lord are right, and verily

Left is the misguidance of veils, the essence of separation

فكن محرِماً عمّا سواه مجرّداً

ملابس أغيارٍ محلّاً بحجّة

So be prohibited from all else, stripped

Of the clothes of others, filled with proof

وطف حيث بيت الربّ معمور فيضه

به واستلم ركن التجلّي بصورة

Circle where the House of God is inhabited by its overflowing

By it and receive the corner of manifestation in form

ورِدْ زمزمَ الفيض اللدنيِّ مسرعاً

ورُدْ حِجرَه الفيّاض ميزاب رحمة

Return thirstily to the eternal pouring spring

And return to its pouring rock, the gushing place of mercy

وفي عرفات الجمع عرفان فرقةٍ

ونيل المنا بعد الدنوّ لزلفة

And in Arafat of collectedness is the gnosis of distinction

And attaining wishes after desires is for intimacy

جمار السوى فارشق بها ماردَ النوى

وللنفس بدء الرجم أوّل جمرة

Pass straight on the path so the goal of wishes rises through you

And for the self beginning stoning the first pebble

وعد طائفاً ذاك المقام تشوّقاً

ترَ الفيض يجري في طواف الإفاضة

Circle that position longing

You see the pouring flowing in the circling of effusion

فيمّم رعاك القلب إذ كنت قبل ذا

ربيع اصطفاءٍ للوفا والمودّة

Turn your riding camel if you were before this

A springtime of chosenness for loyalty and affection

وحيث قد اخترت السوى لك فالنوى

بنجمك يهوي في خوافي الطبيعة

And when you have chosen singularity for you then wishes

With your star collapse into the unknown of nature
