Yet his efforts for good are well known

كذاك بيروت ناحت مذ توطنها

سبعاً وستين عاماً وهو مشكورُ

Thus has Beirut mourned since its founding

Sixty seven years, for which it is thanked

لذا الإله بتاريخ يبشرهُ

يهنيك نصرٌ جميلٌ أنت منصورُ
