1. هل نور وجهك ضاءَ في لبنانِ

    أم برق ثغر باسم فتَّانِ

    Did the light of your face shine in Lebanon

    Or the lightning of your charming smile?

  2. أم تلك أنوار الغزالة في الدجى

    هل يوشعٌ قد عاد للميدانِ

    Or is it the light of the gazelle in the darkness?

    Has Joshua returned to the battlefield?

  3. بل تلك رايات المليك مليكنا

    عبد العزيز سنا بني عثمانِ

    Rather, it is the flags of our King, our King

    Abdul Aziz, the youth of the Ottomans

  4. ألقت على لبنان أنوار ألبها

    فأَضاءَ ذِروة مجده القمرانِ

    It cast its lights on Lebanon

  5. عبد الجلوس بدا سناهُ فبادروا

    نتقاسم الأفراح كالإخوانِ

    ذكراً ليوم تفاخر التيجانِ

    A feast for the universes dance with joy

  7. ذكراً ليومٍ فيهِ إسعادُ الملأ

    والخير فيه واضح البرهانِ

    Remembering the day when the Kings’ happiness

    And good was clear evidence

  8. قام المليك بهِ على أفق العُلا

    يحيي الورى من جوده الهتانِ

    The King rose on the horizon of highness

    To enliven the worlds with his passionate generosity

  9. ملك إذا رمت الشبيه لهُ فقل

    قد جل عن شبيهٍ وعن أقرانِ

    A King, if you seek his equal, say

    He is far above any equal or peer

  10. ملك يرى الإحسان في أن لا يرى

    في الناس محتاجاً إلى إحسانِ

    A King who sees benevolence in not seeing

    People in need of benevolence

  11. تلقاه بالعين الرحيمة ناظراً

    كل البلاد بعيدها والداني

    He looks upon all countries, near and far

    With a merciful eye

  12. لكن حبا لبنان أوفى منحةٍ

    ممتازةٍ عن سائر البلدانِ

    But his love of Lebanon was the greatest gift

    Distinguished from all other countries

  13. أهدى لهُ الشهم الخطير وزيره

    فارتقوا أبن نصر اللّه عين زمانِ

    His brave minister gave it to him

    So the son of Nasrallah rose, the eye of time

  14. بدرٌ بدا يهدي بساطع نوره

    عن نور شمس الملك كالبرهانِ

    A full moon appearing, giving its bright light

    From the light of the sun King, like proof

  15. من سيفهِ الأقطار ترجف خيفةً

    وتراه يرجف خيفة الديانِ

    From his sword, the regions tremble in fear

    And you see it tremble in fear of the Judge

  16. نشر التمدنِ في حمى لبنان إذ

    أضحى بهِ متصرفاً بأمانِ

    He spread civilization in the sanctuary of Lebanon

    When he became its ruler in security

  17. فغدا لسان الحال يهتف ناشداً

    هيا بنا هيا بني الأوطانِ

    So the tongue of the scene hailed, appealing

    Come on, O people of the nations!

  18. هيا بنا نحو التمدن كلنا

    أبناءُ قطرٍ واحدٍِ لبناني

    Come on, let's all head towards civilization

    Sons of one nation, Lebanese!

  19. لا شيءَ يمنحنا السعادة مثل ما

    نحظى بها في طاعة السلطانِ

    Nothing grants us happiness like what

    We enjoy in obeying the Sultan

  20. للّه درك يا حمى لبنان إذ

    أصبحتَ مغتنم الرضا الشاهاني

    God bless you, O sanctuary of Lebanon, for

    You have become a gain of the King's contentment

  21. نشرت معارفهُ الجليلة إذ غدا

    يروي حديثاً عن بني نبهانِ

    You spread his great knowledge when he began

    To narrate about the people of Nebhan

  22. وبقاعه ذاك العزيز مقامهُ

    أضحى عزيزاً أخصب الوديانِ

    And its dear place became dear, the most fertile valleys

    And in its foothills and branches, wishes came true

  23. وبمتنهِ وبفرعهِ حل المنى

    والجرد أضحى ساحلاً لأمانِ

    And the barren became a coast of safety

    Jbeil and its mountains and plains

  24. وبشوفهِ يُشفى العليل تيمناً

    غرباء قل بالخير يلتقيانِ

    And ruggedness wove meadows of Edelweiss

    White, describing sublime meanings

  25. قد عدت يا عرقوبهِ عما مضى

    وغدوت معروفاً بصدق لسانِ

    The hands of agriculture extended your cedars to the heights

    And they gesture with fingers and branches

  26. وكذا المناصف أنصفت لما صفت

    في خدمةٍ تُهدى إلى الأوطانِ

    You have risen high, but in his sword

    You rise above the celestial sphere

  27. وبكسروان ترى الأمان موطداً

    من سيف كسراه الجليل الشأنِ

    If you had wings, you would have flown high

    To the Pleiades and Libra

  28. وترى القويطع كالقطيع مطاوعاً

    وكذاك قاطعهُ بوصلٍ داني

    And fertility is in its valleys and midlands

    Say, a garden adorned with cups

  29. وجبيلهُ وجبالهُ وسهولهُ

    ووعوره حاكت رياض ألبانِ

    Even rocks have become fruitful orchards

    With every fruit in pairs

  30. وبزاويتهِ قد بني نعم ألبنا

    هل لا وذا وعدٌ من الرحمنِ

    And you roam in its forests, safe

    From the rule of justice, adorned with the scale

  31. تحمى بسيفٍ باترٍ بترونهُ

    وكذا غدت أميزنه بأمانِ

    And springs that revive hearts and their roses

    And its eyes quench the thirst of the thirsty

  32. نادى حسام العدل فيهِ هاتفاً

    ألقي بشري كل من عاداني

    And people graze in the meadows of its safety

    And birds sing in the branches of acacia

  33. بجنوبهِ وشمالهِ تلفى الهنا

    وبشرقهِ وبغربهِ هنأنِ

    It is a paradise, but its doors

    Were opened by God's victory and acceptance

  34. دانت لواليها البلاد وأهلها

    من دون سيف أوقنا المرانِ

    It is that valor whose traits

    Suffice you from Kisra and Anushirwan

  35. وأتت تقاد لهُ بثوب إطاعتهِ

    أمناً فقلَّدها حلى الإحسانِ

    No difference between them but one worships

    God while the other, fire

  36. قم أيها الشيخ القديم زمانهُ

    وانظر هضابك بهجة الأكوانِ

    No distraction distracted him from seriousness

    Nor did drowsiness overpower his eyelids

  37. وانظر لزهر الروض فيهِ اذبداً

    تختال فيهِ شقائق النعمانِ

    Or the flirtation of love trifled with his compassion

    And toyed with the entrails of the infatuated

  38. نسجَ الربيع بنحو هامك خوذةً

    كزبر جدٍ قد صيغ مع مرجانِ

    Or the beauty of the beloved, his order did not hear

    Except it made him like the intoxicated, limp

  39. هامٌ تكللهُ الثلوج أكلةً

    بيضاءَ تكني عن جليل معاني

    Oh you who sings melodies, hurry to the sanctuary

    For God's sake hurry, oh you who sings melodies

  40. أيدي الضراعة مدَّ أرزك للعُلا

    وغدا يشير بأنملٍ وبنانِ

    And when you reach the mountains of Lebanon, head south

    To the meadows where gazelles roam

  41. ونعم علوت إلى العلى لكنما

    في سيفهِ تعلو على كيوانِ

    And when you pass and stop by Jezzine

    In the sanctuary where the Savior of Mankind rests

  42. لو نلتَ أجنحةً لطرت إلى العُلا

    وإلى الثريا سرت والميزانِ

    May my soul redeem you, stop wandering for a while

    Say peace and move away from the arena

  43. والخصب في أكفانه ووسوطهِ

    قل جنة تزدان بالأفنانِ

    Head to the sanctuary of the beautiful moon

    And aim for the sanctuary of the Master of Pillars

  44. حتى الصخور غدت رياضاً أثمرت

    من كل فاكهة بها زوجانِ

    And stay at the House of Faith and submit, for you see

    Nasrallah with his supporters

  45. وتمر في غاباتهِ مستأمناً

    من حكم عدل زين بالميزانِ

    And bow your forehead in the soil of a sublime prayer mat

    Touched by the supreme sublime feet

  46. ومناهلٍ يحيي القلوب ورودها

    وعيونهُ تروي ظمأ الظمآنِ

    Then recite on my behalf what good prayers

    With eloquent rhetoric have brought

  47. والخلق ترتع في رياض أمانهِ

    والطير غرد فوق غصن البانِ

    My Master, far be it for your companion to be

    One known for his forgetfulness

  48. هو جنةٌ لكنما أبوابها

    فتحت لنصر اللّه من رضوانِ

    In every second and every minute

    You will find him remembering benevolence

  49. هو ذلك الشهم الذي أوصافهُ

    تغنيك عن كسرى أنو شروانِ

    And constantly engrossed in prayer

    Saying, oh my Lord, make his age in safety

  50. لا فرق بينهما سوى ذا عابدٌ

    للّه أما ذاك للنيرانِ

    And place your right hand over our King's heart

    As long as light shines in the sanctuary of Lebanon

  51. لم نلههِ الأت لهوٍ لا ولا

    يسطو عليهِ فاتر الأجفانِ

  52. أو غادة لعب الغرام بعطفها

    فغدت تلاعب مهجة الولهانِ

  53. أو حسن خود لم يلج سمع أمره

    ا إلا غدا كالشارب النشوانِ

  54. يا منشد الألحان عج نحو الحمى

    باللّه عج يا منشد الألحانِ

  55. وإذا وصلت جبال لبنان فمل

    نحو الجنوب مراتع الغزلانِ

  56. وإذا مررت وجُزْتَ في جزينه

    بحمى مقام مخلّص الإنسان

  57. تفديك روحي فترةً قف هائماً

    وقل السلام وجز عن الميدانِ

  58. عن دارةِ القمر البهي وأقصد حمى

    مولى الموالي سيد الأركانِ

  59. وأقم ببيت الدين واخضع إذ ترى

    بحتف نصر اللّه بالأعوانِ

  60. وأعفر جبينك في تراب عسجدٍ

    من وطأة القدم العلي الشأنِ

  61. ثم اتل عني ما أتا بهِ لا هجٌ

    من خير أدعيةٍ بحسن بيانِ

  62. مولاي حاشا أن يكون رفيقكم

    ممَّن يعاب بنقصه النسيانِ

  63. في كل ثانيةٍ وكل دقيقةٍ

    تلقاه فرضاً ذاكر الإحسانِ

  64. ويدوم يلهج بالدعاءِ مكرراً

    يا ربي أجعل عمره بأمانِ

  65. وأجعل بيمينك فوق قلب مليكنا

    ما ضاءَ نورٌ في حمى لبنانِ
