Claude 2

  1. يا طالباً نُسكاً تهذَّ

    ب قبل ان تُدعى بناسك

    O you who seek to be devout

    Be diligent before you are called devout

  2. ثُمَّ انعطِف عن كل عا

    طفةٍ تأُول إلى انعِكاسِك

    Then turn away from every tendency

    That leads to your own reflection

  3. واخبُر طِباعَكَ بامتِنا

    عِكَ عن هواكَ وعِظم باسِك

    And inform your nature with abstinence

    From your desires and magnify your devotion

  4. واسبُر خِصالَكَ بانفِصا

    لِكَ عن رَجائِك او إِياسِك

    Scrutinize your traits by separating

    Yourself from your hopes or despair

  5. واختَر مُشِيراً حاذقاً

    ليُبِينَ نوعك من جِناسِك

    And choose a skilled advisor

    To show you your type of compatriots

  6. ونتيجةُ الأَحكامَ أَن

    لا تَقضِيَنَّ على قياسك

    And the result of judgments is

    Not to rule according to your standards

  7. بل ثِق بمَن هُوَ عارفٌ

    بالناسكينَ مَعَ المَناسِك

    But trust those who know

    The devout and acts of devotion

  8. واخضَع لهُ ابداً وكُن

    بحبائِلِ الإِفراز ماسِك

    And submit to Him forever and hold on

    To the threads of distinction

  9. أَعِدِ اعترافاً عامماً

    كَمّاً وكَيفاً باحتِراسِك

    Make a general confession

    Of the how and why with caution

  10. وانظُر إلى المَيل الذي

    يعروك من قِبَل التِباسِك

    And look at the inclination that

    Strips you because of your confusion

  11. هل إِنَّهُ مَيلٌ طبيعيٌّ

    يقودك لاختِلاسِك

    Is it a natural inclination

    That leads you to your theft

  12. ام ذاك ترهيبٌ وتر

    غيبٌ تَداخَلَ في حَواسِك

    Or is it intimidation and discouragement

    That interfered with your senses

  13. ام دَعوةٌ رُوحِيَّةٌ

    فانظُر إلى مبدا أَساسِك

    Or a spiritual call

    So look at the basis of your foundation

  14. وانظُر لأَيَّة غايةٍ

    قد أُضرِمَت نارُ اقتِباسِك

    And see for what purpose

    The fire of your inspiration was lit

  15. واضرَع لِتعلَمَ أيُّ وِر

    دٍ منهُ أوفق شُربُ كاسِك

    And plead to know which affection

    Is the most fitting drink of your cup

  16. قبلَ اعتِقالك في النُذو

    رِ فَهُنَّ سِلسِلة احتِباسِك

    Before you are detained in wishing

    For here is the chain of your detention

  17. واذا أراك اللَهُ حَقّاً

    انهُ يبغيك ناسِك

    And if God shows you truthfully

    That He wants you to be devout

  18. فاحمِل صليبك واتَّبِع

    ليسوعَ واهجُر جمعَ ناسِك

    Then carry your cross and follow

    Jesus and abandon all your people

  19. واحسِم إرادتكَ التي

    تُردِيك واخضِعها لراسِك

    And decide your will that

    Ruins you and submit it to your Superior

  20. واعلَم بانَّكَ ذاهبٌ

    اذ لا سبيلَ إلى التِماسِك

    And know that you are leaving

    Since there is no way to find you

  21. فالموتُ كشَّر عن نوا

    جذهِ وجدَّ على افتِراسِك

    For death has bared

    Its fangs and insisted on devouring you

  22. قَسراً ولو أَنَّ الرِما

    حَ سِياجُ خِدرِك او كِناسِك

    Forcefully even if shields

    Are the fences of your cell or church

  23. واضرَع بليلك هاتفاً

    وانهَض مهبّاً من نُعاسِك

    And plead in your night calling out

    And get up ardently from your sleep

  24. مولايَ خُذ بِيَدي ايا

    من فضلُهُ للكل ماسِك

    My Master take me by the hand

    O You whose grace is holder of all people

  25. وامنُن عليَّ بحُسن خا

    تمةٍ ايا ملجا أُناسِك

    And bestow on me a good ending

    O refuge of Your devotees
