عَجَبٌ نَراهُ فسَبِّحوا من أبدَعا

قد أشرَقَ القَمَرانِ في وَقتٍ مَعَا

A wonder it is, so glorify the Originator

The two moons have risen at the same time

قَمَران قد طَلَعا مِن الغربِ الذي

قد كانَ يُعهَدُ مَغرِباً لا مَطلِعا

Two moons that rose from the West, which

Used to be known for sunsets, not sunrises

فاستأنسَ الشَّرْقُ السَّعيدُ مُسلِّماً

واستوحَشَ الغربُ البعيدُ مُودِّعا

So the happy East felt at ease, submitting

While the distant West felt lonely, bidding farewell

غَلَبت على الرَّبعِ الشَّجيِّ مَسَرَّةٌ

فلَوِ اُستطاعَ إلى لِقائهما سَعَى

Joy has overcome the sad quarter

If it could meet them, it would have strived

ما زالَ يهتِفُ بالبِشارةِ والهَنا

مَن كانَ يهتِفُ بالشِّكايةِ والدُّعا

Those who used to plead and pray

Now celebrate and rejoice

وَفْدٌ جميلُ الوجهِ أبهَجَ مَنظراً

ضُربَتْ بشائِرُهُ فأبهَجَ مَسمَعا

A beautiful delegation brought joyful sights

Its tidings brought pleasant news to the ears

يا أيُّها الدَّارُ اُخلَعي ثوبَ الأسَى

فاليومَ قد مَسَحَ الزَّمانُ الأدمُعا

O house, take off the clothes of sorrow

For today time has wiped the tears

وعَسَى الذي جَمَعَ الأحبَّةَ مرّةً

أن لا يَعودَ مُفرِّقاً ما جَمَّعا

And may He who gathered the loved ones once

Not separate again what He brought together
