بنو عُبيدٍ أقاموا اليومَ مدرسةً

تَهدي إلى العِلمِ والآدابِ والرَّشَدِ

The sons of Ubayd today established a school

That guides to knowledge, literature, and righteousness

مَنارةٌ في ضواحي مِصرَ مُشرقةٌ

تُعيدُ ما قد مَضَى مِن سالِفِ الأمَدِ

A beacon in the suburbs of shining Egypt

That brings back what has passed of old times

قامَت تُشِيرُ إلى الطُلاّبِ هاتِفةً

بُشرَى لكم باحتضانِ الأُمِّ للوَلَدِ

It stands calling to the students

Good tidings for you in the mother's embrace of her child

وفوقَ بابٍ لدى تأريخِهِ وُضِعَتْ

أرَّختُ يُنقَشُ تَذكارٌ إلى الأبدِ

And above a door in its dating was placed

I have dated, engraved as a memento for eternity
