How is this world and this era,
Each day it is said so-and-so died.
Some of us pull others, with hands
Each dead person holds the rein of each living one.
Our home in which we live,
Is a home of war, there is no safety in it.
If we settle on earth, we are but dust,
Or if we kindled fire, we are but smoke.
We have not ceased to be between separation and gathering,
Each day, God has a new creation.
The lamps have set in the east away from us,
So the eyelids remained in darkness.
A calamity that saddened the day with its gloominess,
So anemones and festivals wept.
After it, the horses were angry at the mud,
As the teeth resented the reed-grass.
The wailing of mourning rose high,
And the pearls of tears flowed between coral.
O you two who left us, go slowly,
Sorrows have melted our hearts.
If decay has turned you away, by my life,
Worries and grief do not decay.
Such is love in life and death,
Where accord and intimacy remained.
Peace be upon you whenever a breeze blows by,
And the gardens greet it.
And a cloud rains upon that dust,
With forgiveness and acceptance from it.
