O seller of patience, have no mercy on the buyer

For a dirham of patience is worth a thousand dinars

Nothing like patience heals the wound of its owner

And no shop contains its like, that of the perfumer

This which a sip of it calms sorrows

Like cold water extinguishing the heat of fire

And it protects the heart, keeping it safe

Until hardship is changed to ease

Indeed well-being is a treasure, however small

With it deficient money becomes plentiful

And money is called a friend when needed

But may become an enemy at home

O you who grieved over losing money, you were

Created bare and there is no shame in that

Just as yesterday that money came, earned

Tomorrow the Almighty Lord will bring it anew

The turns of fate run in countries

According to the status of people, measure for measure

The winds hit the palm tree, shaking it

But do not shake the branches of acacia and locust

If the least surplus remains from you, be small

For it is a piece in the course of courses

Grant you are the sun rising in the orbits

Is the sun safe from eclipse and gloom?

And the sun in its mansion is a sun even if eclipsed

Its eclipse does not reduce its light

Fortune has a day over us that does not last, as

A day we had that did not last in its ruling

The branch does not remain bare without fruit

Until you see it with leaves and fruits

God will open a door you do not know

And a path not noticed by sights

If we cut off hope of relief from the soul

Then we have cut off the mercy of the Creator
