إنْ لم تَرُعْهُ صَوَارِمي وأَسِنَّتِي

ويَصُدُّهُ بَأْسِي وشِدَّةُ صَوْلَتي

If my swords and tongue do not restrain him,

And my might and the intensity of my assault drive him back,

ويَذُودُهُ عَنّي كِرامُ عَشِيرَتِي

وتَرُدُّهُ عَمّا يُحاوِلُ هَيْبَتي

And my clan's honor protects me from him,

And reverence for me keeps him from what he attempts,

فالحِلْمُ في كُلِّ الْمَواطِنِ شِيمَتي

Then forbearance in all situations is my trait

And patience is my armor and contentment is my shield,

والصَّبْرُ دِرْعي والقَنَاعَةُ جُنَّتي

والذّكْرُ حِصْني والدُّعَاءُ سِلاحِي

And remembrance is my fortress and supplication is my weapon.
