فَلاَ وَحَقِّكَ ما أَنْفَكُّ آوِنَةً

مِنْ مُشْكِلٍ قَطُّ إلاّ قَامَ إشْكالُ

I will not cease struggling

With unsolvable problems, except more appear

وَلا يُفارِقُني دَرْسٌ أُزَاوِلُهُ

إلاّ وتَبْدُرُ أَشْباهٌ وَأَمْثالُ

No lesson occupies me

Without shades and colors manifesting

وَلا أُحَرِّرُ قَوْلاً عَنْ مَسائِلِهِ

إلاّ وتَعْقُبُهُ في الوَقْتِ أَقْوالُ

No discourse flows from my quill

Without words trailing forthwith

وإنْ أَسَأْتُ بِهذَا فاحْتَمِلْ كَرَماً

لا خَيْرَ في الحُبِّ لا يَعْرُوهُ إدْلالُ

If in this I err, forgive me in your grace

No good in love untouched by doting
