أَلاَ إنّ أَيّامَ الْحَياةِ كَأنَّها
مَرَاحِلُ يَطْويها الْمُعَنَّى بأَسْفارِ
Behold, the days of life are like
stages traversed by the toil-worn traveler on his journeys;
وَيَوْمُ مَمَاتِ الْمَرْءِ فيها كَأَنَّهُ الْ
وُصولُ إلى الأَهْلِينَ والمالِ والدّارِ
and the day of a person’s death among them is like
arriving at one’s family, wealth, and home.
