Peace be upon those books; indeed, I have
A passion for them beyond every other passion.
Peace be upon them as long as I live; and if I die,
Then this is farewell, and the tears are bloody.
Though they have handed over the keys to their union
To me, and become enamored of me just as I am of them,
Yet, however long I might live, I would not say:
“I have assuaged my passion or attained my desire.”
