كَأَنَّ وَجْهَ النَّهْرِ إذْ حَفَّتْ بِهِ
أَشْجَارُهُ فَصَافَحَتْهُ الأَغْصُنُ
The face of the river, ringed by the trees
Their branches reaching out to embrace it
مِرْآةُ غِيدٍ قَدْ وَقَفْنَ حَوْلَها
يَنْظُرْنَ فِيها أَيُّهُنَّ أَحْسَنُ
Is like a polished mirror where maidens gather
Each gazing at her reflection, asking who is most fair
