  1. يا رَبِّ لا تَقْبِضَني قَبْلَ ما

    أَنَالُ ما أَرْجُو مِنَ السَّبْقِ

    O Lord, take me not away before

    I attain what I hope for of precedence -

  2. إِمّا تُقىً يُلْحِقني بالأُولَى

    قَدْ أَحْرَزُوا السَّبْقَ مِنَ الْخَلْقِ

    Either piety that joins me to the foremost

    Who have already obtained precedence among mankind,

  3. أو قُدْرَة يُمْكِنُني عِنْدَها

    أنْ أَحْمِلَ الْخَلْقَ على الْحَقِّ

    Or power that enables me

    To guide mankind toward the truth.
