مَتَى يَجْمَعُ اللهُ الكَريمُ لَنَا الشَّمْلاَ
Oh! If only I knew, after our long separation
When will God, the Generous, reunite us
مَضَتْ مئتانِ مِنْ لَيالٍ أعُدُّها
ومِنْ دُونِ أَحْبابي أَرَى الحَزْنَ والسَّهْلاَ
Two hundred nights have passed, as I count them
And without my loved ones, I see only sorrow and barrenness
