يَقُلُونَ هَذا عالِمُ الْمِصْرِ والذي
يَحُلُّ عِقالَ الْمُشْكِلاتِ البَوارِكِ
They say this is the wise man of Egypt, the one
Who solves the most complex riddles and mysteries
فَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ هذَا كَبِيرُ كِلابِها
لَهُ نَبَحاتٌ عِنْدَ كُلِّ الْمَدارِكِ
So I said to them, he is but the top dog of the pack
With a bark ready at every doorway and portal
فَيا لَيْتَ شِعْرِي ما أنا عِنْدَ خالِقي
وَهَلْ أنا نَاجٍ بَعْدَ تلكَ المعَارِكِ
Oh, if only I knew, what am I to my Creator?
Will I be saved after those battles and strifes?
