1. أَمَرْتَ إلَهي بالمَكارِمِ كُلِّها

    وَلَمْ تَرْضَها إلاّ وأَنْتَ لَها أَهْلُ

    My God, you have commanded all good virtues

    And would not accept them unless you were worthy of them

  2. فَقُلْتَ اصْفَحُوا عَمَّنْ أَساءَ إلَيْكُمُ

    وعُودُوا بِحِلْمٍ إنْ بَدا مِنْكُمُ جَهْلُ

    So you said: forgive those who wronged you

    And return with patience if ignorance appears from you

  3. فَهَلْ لِجَهُولٍ خَافَ صَعْبَ ذُنُوبِهِ

    لَدَيْكَ أَمانٌ مِنْكَ أو جَانِبٌ سَهْلُ

    Does an ignorant one, who fears the difficulty of his sins before you,

    Have safety from you, or an easy escape?
