O you who mix good with evil,
O you who are confused in religion, neglectful of your faith,
neglectful of your religion,
I see you making mistakes, hoping for answers,
indeed, I see you erring.
Seeking rewards from Him without justification.
Do you hope for an answer
I see you aspiring, but not repenting,
and seek reward
When will I see you desist?
from Him without clarification?
I say this about myself, not others,
Indeed, I see you hoping,
Before the new moon arrives.
and I do not see you turning back.
But in grace I aspire, not in justice,
When shall I see you desist?
So do not ask about my deeds.
By this I mean myself,
not the sons of my kind,
before the grave comes.
But it is in grace
that I place my hope, not in justice;
so do not ask about my conduct.
