لا تلوموا إذا تعذبتُ فيهِ

وقضيتُ الحياةَ وجداً عليهِ

Don't blame me if I suffer for their sake

And spend my life in passionate longing

ففؤادي وإن طالَ عذابي

ليسَ يلقى النعبمَ إلا لديهِ

Though my heart's torment may be prolonged

It finds its joy in them alone

وجههُ جنةَ العيونِ وإن كا

ن تلظى السعيرُ في وجنتيهِ

Their face is paradise to my eyes

Though hellfire burn in their cheeks
