ولست بسائل أين الغواني

لعلمي أنهن من الأعادي

And I do not ask where the beautiful maidens are

For I know they are from the enemies

يخالجني السرور متى أناجي

خيالا منك في زمن البعاد

Happiness overwhelms me whenever I confide

In an apparition of you in the time of separation

فلو عرضوا جمالك لابتياع

لصبح سوق غيرك في كساد

If they displayed your beauty for sale

The market of others would sink into recession

وكنت نموذجا من حور عين

يهيم بك التقي من العباد

And you were an example of the maidens of Heaven

The devout worshipper craves you

فلا عجب إذا الشعراء هاموا

ألم تر أنهم في كل واد

No wonder if the poets became obsessed

Can't you see they are in every valley
