بُشراكمو بازديادي

يا آل بيتي ومصري

With my arrival, rejoice

Oh my family and my Egypt

في بيتنا الخزنداري

أشرقت إشراق بدر

In our filled home

A full moon has risen

شابهت جدتي اسما

ففاح بالطبيب نشري

Resembling my grandmother by name

The aroma spread through the doctor

الشعر باسمي تغنى

فيما عزوه لبشر

Poetry was sung with my name

While they attributed it to Bashar

من ساق لابنة عم

يحبها خير مهر

One who brought for his cousin

The best of dowries

وصارع الليث حتى

أوفى لها بالنذر

And wrestled with the lion

Fulfilling his vow for her

وهكذا من تردى

مستبسلا ثوب حر

And so whoever declines

Shedding his free garment

ميلاد مثلي دليل

على تعاظم ذكري

A birth like mine proves

My glory keeps getting bigger

في عام حرب عوان

شرعت أحسب عمري

In the year of the supportive war

I started counting my age

وكان عصري عظيما

وباله من عصر

And my era was great

And an era worries about it

باسمي البتول تسمت

بنت العلا والطهر

The maiden was named after me

The daughter of highness and purity

أبو الثناء وحسبي

أبي وإن لست أطري

My father's pride and my lineage

Even if I don't brag

شوال شهر ازديادي

وحسبكم عيد فطر

Shawwal is the month of my birth

And for you it's Eid al-Fitr

ولدت فيه لهذا

أرّخت بالعيد شهي

I was born in it, so

I dated with the happy Eid
