  1. I guarded the heart against passion,

    until the one who ensnared it appeared—

  2. a fisherman spreading his nets,

    so that within them we might become his catch.

  3. I have kept it company since youth

    and safeguarded his love within it.

  4. My love grows whenever

    my Lord adds to his beauty.
