    تقذف المرء في الحضيض المبيد

  2. قلب دنيانا قطعة من حديد

    لا رعى اللّه عهدها من جدود

    It turned our world into a piece of iron

    With no covenant kept by ancestors

  3. كيف أمسيت يا ابن عبد المجيد

    كن رصينا على احتمال ارزايا

    How have you become, O son of Abdul Majeed

    Be steadfast in enduring tribulations

  4. مثلما كنت في ارتكاب الخطايا

    أو لست المدعو منشي البلايا

    As you were in committing sins

    Or aren't you the one spreading afflictions

  5. مشبع الحوت من لحوم البرايا

    ومجيع الجنود تحت البنود

    Satisfying the whale with the meat of innocents

    While all the soldiers are under clauses

  6. لا إله إلاه دون جدال

    ذهب الدهر بالسنين الطوال

    There is no god but Allah, without dispute

    Time has passed with long years

  7. أيها الوالي في الليالي الخوالي

    كنت أبكي بالأمس منك فما لي

    O governor in frightening nights

    Yesterday I cried because of you, so why

  8. بت أبكي عليك عبد الحميد

    شعبك الحر لا يطيق احتقارا

    Have I become crying for you, Abdul Hamid

    Your free people cannot bear contempt

  9. طالما كانوا راضخين اضطرارا

    ولدى ما رأوا عليك انتصارا

    Though they were submissive by compulsion

    And when they saw you defeated

  10. فرح المسلمون قبل النصارى

    فيك فرح الدروز قبل اليهود

    The Muslims rejoiced before the Christians

    You brought joy to the Druze before the Jews

  11. أرغم الأنف منك من كنت مرغم

    وتولى الإلقام من كنت ملقم

    I forced the unwilling to obey you

    And the dependent assumed command

  12. حسبك الطرد واعتقال كمجرم

    شمتوا كلهم وليس من الهم

    It is enough that you were expelled and detained like a criminal

    They all gloated and had no sympathy

  13. ة أن يشمت الورى في طريد

    أنت في الحالتين كالليث معقو

    To gloat over a prey in misery

    In both cases you are like an angry lion

  14. ل أفي الاحتجاب والسجن فرق

    هوّن الخطب فالتضجر حمق

    Is there a difference between seclusion and prison?

    Make worries easy, complaining is foolishness

  15. أنت عبد الحميد والتاج معقو

    د وعبد الحميد رهن القيود

    You are Abdul Hamid and the crown is impregnable

    While Abdul Hamid is bound in shackles

  16. أنزلوك عن عرشك المتعالي

    واستردوا لهم خزائن مال

    They deposed you from your lofty throne

    And took back their treasure troves

  17. أنت فيهم ذو قسوة لا تبالي

    خالد أنت رغم أنف الليالي

    You were harshly indifferent towards them

    Eternal you are, despite the nights

  18. في كبار الرجال أهل الخلود

    ويحك اسل فما عساهي قال

    Among the great men of eternity

    Woe to you, how will it be said

  19. هكذا الشأن والحروب سجال

    أيضر الشموس ذاك الزوال

    This is how it is, and wars are contentious

    Do mornings harm that decline?

  20. لك في الدهر والكمال محال

    صفحات ما بين بيض وسود

    For you there is no perfection in life

    Pages between white and black

  21. إنما الجند باعتناك استعدوا

    فلماذا وكلهم لك ضد

    The soldiers prepared for you

    So why did they all oppose you?

  22. أظهروا الجحد للصنيع وصدوا

    حاولوا طمس ما صنعت وودوا

    They showed ingratitude for the favor and resisted

    They tried to erase what you did and loved

  23. لو يطيقون طمس خط الحديد

    خط ذاك الحديد أكرم واكمل

    If they could, to erase the line of iron

    That line of iron, most generous and perfect

  24. به خطا من اين مقلة أفضل

    أصبح الحاج منه في الامن يرفل

    It drew a line better than any other

    The pilgrim became secure and comfortable

  25. ذاك عبد الحميد ذخرك عند ال

    له باق إن ضاع عند العبيد

    That is Abdul Hamid, your treasure in adversity

    Remaining if lost among the servants

  26. كل من مر للزيارة في الحي

    فوق خط قد خطه فضله الحي

    All who passed by in life

    Above a line drawn by his generosity

  27. يترحم والشيء يذكر بالشي

    أكرموه وراقبوا اللّه في المشي

    Show mercy, as the thing reminds of its peer

    Honor him and fear Allah in conduct

  28. خ ولا ترهقوه بالتهديد

    حسنات الفتى يبدن المساوي

    And do not burden him with threats

    The good deeds of the youth are equalized by sins

  29. ومن الداء قد يكون التداوي

    قد وصلتم بضغطه للتساوي

    And from the disease may come the cure

    You have made him equal through pressure

  30. لا تخافوا أذاه فالشيخ هاو

    ليس فيه بقيّة للصعود

    Do not fear harming him, the Sheikh is delirious

    There is no ambition left in him

  31. لبس السجن ملبس للحداد

    فاقد الرشد في زمان الرشاد

    Wearing prison garb is like mourning clothes

    Lost of reason in the age of reason

  32. إيه ود استرقاق كل العباد

    ولي الأمر ثلث قرن ينادي

    Alas! The enslavement of all people!

    The ruler for a third of a century calling

  33. باسمه كل مسلم في الوجود

    أخذ الحكم وحده واستبدا

    By his name, every Muslim in existence

    He took power alone and was tyrannical

  34. وتولى عن الهدى وتصدى

    حكمه فينا نافذ لا مردا

    And turned away from guidance and resisted

    His rule over us was irresistible

  35. كلما قامت الصلاة دعا الدا

    عي لعبد الحميد بالتأييد

    Whenever prayers were called believers prayed

    For Abdul Hamid, asking for support

  36. دعوات من المشائخ وقر

    ألف رتل في حقه فهي ذخر

    Prayers from sheikhs and reciters

    Thousands repeating in his right as a treasure

  37. حسبه الخلع وانتظارٌ وأسر

    فاسم هذا الأمير قد كان مقرو

    It is enough that he was dethroned, awaiting and imprisoned

    So the name of this ruler had become customary

  38. نا بذكر الرسول والتوحيد

    لا تجوروا ولا عليه تصولوا

    With mention of the Messenger and monotheism

    Do not wrong him or assault him

  39. واستقيموا وحاذروا أن تحولوا

    كلنا اليوم سائل مسؤول

    And be upright and beware of deviating

    We are all today questioned and accountable

  40. بت أخشى عليكمو أن يقولوا

    إن أثرتم من كامنات الحقود

    I fear for you that they will say

    If you harm the one who protected us

  41. كان عبد الحميد للنار بردا

    كان عبد الحميد أصلح جندا

    Abdul Hamid was like cold water to the fire

    Abdul Hamid was the most reforming soldier

  42. كان عبد الحميد أبذل جهدا

    كان عبد الحميد بالأمس فردا

    Abdul Hamid made the most effort

    Yesterday Abdul Hamid was unique

  43. فغدا اليوم ألف عبد الحميد

    إن خلع الملوك أمره معجب

    So today there are thousands of Abdul Hamids

    Indeed, deposing kings is wondrous

  44. سيما خلع مثل هذا المجرب

    قال فيه المستهزيء المتدرب

    Especially deposing an experienced one like this

    The mocking trainee said about him

  45. يا أسيرا في سنت هيلين رحب

    بأسير في سالونيك جديد

    Welcome O prisoner in the years of Helen, rejoice

    With the prisoner in Thessaloniki anew

  46. ذهبت لذة التحكم فارتع

    في فناء الحديقة المتوسع

    The pleasure of power has deserted you

    In the courtyard of the spacious garden

  47. كان فينا سحابة وتقشع

    قل له كيف زال ملكك لم يع

    You were like a cloud that dissipated

    Tell him how your rule disappeared, it did not last

  48. صمك إعداد عدة أو عديد

    بلدز وهو بعدك اليوم مغبر

    Did preparation of troops or materiel protect you?

    The country after you today lies in ruins

  49. في ذيول من الحيا يتعثر

    لا مفرا من القضاء المقدر

    Stumbling at the end of lives

    There is no escape from destined fate

  50. لم تصنك الجنود تفديك بالأر

    واح والمال يا غرام الجنود

    Did the soldiers ransom you with lives and wealth, O lover of soldiers

    Today those who had come to you turned away

  51. أدبر اليوم عنك ما كان أقبل

    ما عساه من بعد هذا مؤجل

    What awaits him after this delay?

    O time that ended him and hurried!

  52. يا زمانا قضى عليه وعجل

    قل له كيف كنت كيف ملكت

    Tell him how you were, how you ruled,

    The earth, how you monopolized glory

  53. الأرض كيف انفردت بالتمجيد

    كنت كالصل تنهش القوم نهشا

    You were like a wolf devouring people voraciously

    And looted money coin by coin

  54. ونهبت الأموال قرشا فقرشا

    وتسيطرت فوق دستك وحشا

    And dominated over your victims tyrannically

    So you destroyed thrones, throne after throne

  55. فثللت العروش عرشا فعرشا

    وصبغت الصعيد بعد الصعيد

    And painted the ground in blood, region after region

    How many crimes of a slave you did not say

  56. كم لعبد من عشرة لم تقلها

    إذ وصلتم نهاية لم يصلها

    When you reached an end he did not reach

    O Nile, woe to your mother! Among the destroyed

  57. صاحب النيل ويل أمك في الهالكين

    كلما نلت غاية لم تنلها

    Whenever you attained an unattained goal

    The ambition of fate, I said is there more?

  58. همة الدهر قلت هل من مزيد

    قدرك السامي لا سواه مفضل

    Your sublime destiny, none other is superior

    Your sword of old, its edge never dulled

  59. سيفك الماضي حده لم يفلل

    أي أمر أردته ليس يفعل

    Whatever you wanted was done

    The earth was too narrow for your reach, so you set

  60. ضاقت الأرض عن مداك فأرسل

    ت بطرف إلى السماء عنيد

    Your eyes upon the sky, obstinate

    The party of liberals nearly fell into the trap

  61. كاد حزب الأحرار في الفخ يحصل

    من دهاه وكاد يفتك بالكل

    Of his cunning and nearly perished, all of them

    When it prepared a constitution like it, a burden

  62. إذ يعد الدستور مثله كالغل

    قل له جل من له الملك لا ملك

    Tell him the Most High, the King without a king

    For none but the Guardian, the Worshipped

  63. لغير المهيمن المعبود

    حاشا رب الأنام جل تعالى

    Glorious is the Lord of the Worlds

    That he gave the sinners an opportunity to struggle

  64. أن يتيح للتاكثين نضالا

    قل لعبد الحميد مبكي الثكالي

    Tell Abdul Hamid, weeping with sorrow

    You are, from your misery, in the best state

  65. أنت مما شقيت أرفه حالا

    من أسير الجزيرة المكمود

    Than the prisoner of the island, the damned one

    And your brother Pharaoh is cast into the sea

  66. وأخوكم فرعون في اليم ملقى

    مات في النيل حتف أنفه غرقا

    Dead in the Nile, drowning without his nose

    And for you among the kings who died choking

  67. ولكم في الملوك من مات خنقا

    واسير الأقفاص قد كان أشقى

    The prisoner of the cage was most miserable

    If the histories were asked about Bayazid

  68. لو سألت الأسفار عن با يزيد

    قد أراد الإلاه بالسجن رفقا

    God wanted ease with imprisonment

    For one who was a leader among his people

  69. بالذي كان بين قومه عنقا

    قيل فيه قول وقد جاء حقا

    It was said about him truthfully

    Abdul Hamid was more miserable in the palace

  70. كان عبد الحميد في القصر أشقى

    منه في الأسر والبلاء الشديد

    Than his captivity and terrible affliction

    You won't see him riding on the back of horses

  71. لا تراه قد يمتطي ظهر خيل

    لا تراه يجول في ربع ميل

    You won't see him strolling for a mile

    That's how he lived in misery and torment

  72. هكذا عاش في عناء وويل

    كان لا يعرف القرار بليل

    He didn't know stability by night

    Nor enjoyed the taste of sleep

  73. لا ولا يستلذ طعم الهجود

    برضا الكل قد تبوا عرشا

    They stationed soldiers around his palace to block

    Anyone who tries to implore

  74. فرآه من سوء حظه نعشا

    فلذا وهو ذاهل الفكر وحشا

    Anyone who sees his palace or gains access

    The imagination fails to discern that gate

  75. حذر يرهب الظلام ويخشى

    خطرة الريح أو بكاء الوليد

    The gate of the Caliph sealed

    A state that saddens every heart

  76. عاش فردا لم يصطف الدهر إلفا

    خون الكل مذ تسيطر عسفا

    And oppression over the servants is arduous

    You were the master yesterday, and today a slave

  77. لم يغمظ من خشية الفتك طرفا

    نفق تحت طابق الارض أخفى

    Is it true what is said about you, and it is true?

    What we heard from narrators and witnesses

  78. في تدجبيه من ضمير الكنود

    اوقف الجند حول قصره تنل

    You are more unjust than the son of Joseph in evil

    You failed the army on land and sea

  79. دون عين لصرف من يتوسل

    من يرى قصره ومن يتوصل

    And they say about you God is the greatest!

    That Abdul Hamid demolished evil

  80. يعجز الوهم عن تلمس ذاك البا

    ب باب الخليفة الموصود

    And cultivated the deeds of the righteous

    You attained glory in the past days

  81. حالة منها كل قلب يرق

    واضطهاد على العبيد يشق

    Where you attached incompetence to the portfolios

    Rest, no conscience hurts or stings you

  82. انت مولى بالامس واليوم رق

    اصحيح ماق يل عنك وحق

    Whether innocent or sinner, you will be judged one day

    Judged before the Witness Lord

  83. ما سمعنا عن الرواة الشهود

    أنت أدهى من ابن يوسف في الشر

    Times have panicked those forebears

    So show patience if you find no patience

  84. أنت أخذلت جيش بحرك والبر

    ويقولون عنك اللّه أكبر

    And remember the pain, you know pain more

    Abdul Aziz's matter was more beautiful

  85. ان عبد الحميد قد هدم الشر

    ع وأربى على فعال الوليد

    Than you on the day of his famous deposition

    The son declined when he squandered opportunities

  86. نلت فيما مضى من العمر عزا

    حيث ألحقت بالحقائب عجزا

    And rode the ship, his shoes leading

    Arrogant in it, dignity and majesty

  87. استرح لا ضمير يؤذيك وخزا

    ان بريئا وان اثيما ستجزى يوم

    Fearing the famous saying: Glorified

    Is He from insignificance, he died the death of the black

  88. تجزى أمام رب شهيد

    وسواء جار الزمان وأنصرف

    He locked the door to them exclusively

    Deceiving the mother for licentious purposes

  89. إنه الحق وحده الله أعرف

    دعك منهم وقل ولا تتوقف

    Disappearing for what the brother intended

    He gathered his scissors to himself and called

  90. أصحيح بكيت لما أتى الوف

    د ونابتك رعشة الرعديد

    Without the humiliation of life, cut the vein

    They took away from you what kills you and ties you

  91. وتلهفت والتلهف نقس

    من عظيم والليث مثلك يقسو

    Every vein until blood flows and empties

    Have you heard what was said, and the truth is more eloquent

  92. حط عنك الشهامة البأس والسو

    ونسيت الآباء والمجد والسو

    Tell the East and the West the good news of the age of reason

    That I wished for in time long past

  93. دد والعز يا كريم الجدود

    أبكاء عن ترك تلك المساكن

    With our swords we cut off the root of injustice

    And we cut from our shoulders the burden

  94. أبكاء عن فقد هذي الخزائن

    أبكاء عن كشف هذي الدفائن

    The tyrant has fallen, so let all rejoice

    Mohammed the Fifth assumed the rule

  95. عهدنا الملوك تبكي ولكن

    علها نزوة الفؤاد الجليد

    So glorify the signs of his crowned reign

    Rejoice! Abdul Hamid has relinquished

  96. أخضابا في ذلك الشيب مخضل

    فتجلّى المبيض بالدمع مبتل

    And our constitution is high

    And our guidance assumed command

  97. دمعة سالت فوق فؤديك كالطل

    علها دمعة الوداع لذاك المل

    And graced a graceful festival

    The sword of Othman carried in procession

  98. ك أو ذكرة لتلك العهود

    إن سيف الدستور حده ماض

    That sword, protector of the sanctity of life

    That glistening sword with living blood

  99. ويسيرٌ مما جرى لك قاض

    بمنال الغفران شأن التغاضي

    That sword, when unfurled and borne

    And that fate humbled when it saw the sword

  100. غسل الدمع عنك حوبة ماضي

    ك ووقاك شر يوم الوعيد

    In the grip of the mighty, lauded sovereign

    Prepare today the army on land and sea

  101. صب عنك الدستور سوط البلايا

    وتجلى المكنون ضمن الزوايا

    And advance with the lion for attack and retreat

    Then call out among the people God is Great!

  102. هل لك اليوم في المآقي بقايا

    نفع الدمع فيك عند البرايا

    My delights for majesty, O mother of the world

    Bow down in prostration, this is the place of prostration

  103. ليس ذاك الشفيع بالمردود

    أبكاء بالدمع أم هو بالدم

    God has enabled the victory of His servants

    When we collaborated to advance the countries

  104. فكلا السائلين كل به اهتم

    أيها الباكي خفف الوظأ والهم

    By your lives and the right of those hands

    God knows that the age of reason

  105. دمعك اليوم مثل أمرك بالأم

    س مطاع في سيد ومسود

    Is better, so make permanent the days of the reasonable

    Good tidings, Abdul Hamid has relinquished

  106. حادثت الأيام أولئك ذعرا

    فتجلد إن لم تجد لك صبرا

    And our constitution is high

    And our guidance has assumed command

  107. واذكر العم أنت بالعم أدرى

    كان عبد العزيز أجمل أمرا

    And graced in a graceful festival

    The sword of Othman carried in tradition

  108. منك في يوم خلعه المشهود

    أنب الابن إذ أضاع المجالا

    ممتلي فيه عزة وجلالا

    And that fate humbled when it saw the sword

  110. خاف مأثور قوله فتعالى

    عن صغار ومات موت الأسود

    In the grip of the mighty, praised sovereign!

    Prepare today the army on land and sea

  111. أوصد الباب دونهن انفرادا

    موهم الأم ما أراد السهادا

    And advance with the lion for attack and retreat

    Then call out among the people God is great!

  112. غب ما كاتب الشقيق مرادا

    ضم مقراضه إليه ونادى

    My delights for majesty, O mother of the world

    Bow down in prostration, this is the place of prostration

  113. دون ذل الحياة قطع الوريد

    اقتطع منك ما يميتك والدغ

    God has enabled the victory of His servants

    When we collaborated to advance the countries

  114. كل عرق حتى يسيل ويفرغ

    هل سمعت ما قيل والحق أبلغ

    By your lives and the right of those hands

    God knows that the age of reason

  115. حي عهد الرشاد يا شرق وابلغ

    ما تمنيت من زمان بعيد

    Is better, so make permanent the days of the wise

  116. قد قطعنا بسيفنا دابر الظلم

    وقطعنا من عواتقنا الغل

  117. سقط المستبد فليهنأ الكل

    قد تولى محمد الخامس المل

  118. ك فأعظم بتاجه المعقود

    يال بشرى عبد الحميد تخلى

  119. وتناغى دستورنا وتعلى

    وتراءى رشادنا وتولى

  120. وتحلى في مهرجان تحلى

    سيف عثمان فيه بالتقليد

  121. ذلك السيف ذاك حامي حمى الحي

    ذلك السيف مشرق بالدم الحي

  122. ذلك السيف عند نشره والطي

    وذلك الدهر خاشعا إذ رأى السي

  123. فين في قبضة العزيز المجيد

    هيىء اليوم جيش بحرك والبر

  124. وتقدم بالأسد للكر والفر

    ثم ناد في الناس اللّه أكبر

  125. طألئي للجلال يا أم الأر

    ض سجودا هذا مقام السجود

  126. قد أتاح الإله نصر العباد

    مذ تظافرنا في رقي البلاد

  127. زه لعمري وحق تلك الأيادي

    علم الله أن عهد رشاد

  128. خير فال لرد عهد الرشيد
