من للثكالى وللجرحى وأيتام

أودى بهم حرب طغيان وإسلام

For the bereaved, the wounded, and the orphans

Brought down by the war of tyranny and Islam

ألقى الجميع إلى اخوانهم رمقا

مسترحما لمواساة وإكرام

I extended to all my brothers a helping hand

With compassion and honor to soothe and care

هذي تنوح وهذا نادب أبه

وذا يئن لوجع جرحه دام

One grieves while the other mourns his father

And another moans from the pain of his lingering wound

من ذا يواسي بتضميد معاطبهم

فمنتهى البر تخفيف لآلام

Who will tend their injuries with bandages?

For the height of righteousness is to alleviate pain

هم داهمتهم صعاليك صقلية

شأن اللصوص تفاجي دون إعلام

They were ambushed by the bandits of Sicily

Like thieves taking them unawares

فاستنفروا لملاقاة العدو فكا

نوا في مواطنهم آساد آجام

So they called to arms to face the enemy

And became in their lands roaring lions

واستصرخوا أمة الإسلام قاطبة

ممن بمصر وبالخضرا وبالشام

And pleaded with the entire Islamic nation

In Egypt, the Levant, Iraq, and faraway India

وبالعراق وأقصى الهند فارتجفت

طباقها السبع واهتزت بأعلام

Whose seven regions shook and trembled with flags

The Turkish lion roared to defend Tripoli

وأسرعت اسد الأتراك ثائرة

تحمي طرابلسا من دوس أقدام

From being trampled underfoot

And the Sanusi rose in anger for it

وثار ذاك السنوسي لها غضبا

مناديا بالجهاد بين آكام

Calling for jihad among the peaks

His call was answered by the group

فلبت الدعوة الكبرى جماعته

تسعى مدججة من كل ضرغام

Armed and racing from every valley

He asked us in the name of the crescent

ومدها بغزير المال سائلنا

باسم الهلال ليشفي غلة الظامي

To provide funds to heal the pain of the oppressed

Feeling stirred to revive in us every emotion

دب الشعور فأحيا كل عاطفة

فينا وأوجدنا من بعد إعدام

And inspired life after death

Each of us trembled with fervor

فخف من خف منا للوغى طربا

مستسهلا حتفه مستصغر الرامي

Eagerly rushing toward his fate, undaunted by the archer

One who does not care sacrificing lives

من لا يبالي بأرواح يبددها

طوى الجسام سجلات بأجسام

Has folded deeds within bodies

March on in the plan you publicly made

سيروا على خطة قمتم بها علنا

سير الأهلة في المجرى لإتمام

Like the crescent following its course to fullness

Those people lie dead in their lands

أولئك القوم صرعى في معاطنهم

مسيجون بالآم وأسقام

Bound by pain and disease

While you in the shade of security make your pasture

وأنتمو في ظلال الأمن مرتعكم

ألم تكن بينكم وصلات أرحام

Were there no family ties between you?

Also the unity of Islam binds us

أيضاً وجامعة الإسلام تربطنا

بهم وتحكم ربطا أي إحكام

To them inextricably, most perfectly

Be generous to them as they were with themselves

جودوا عليهم كما جادوا بأنفسهم

فمبلغ العلم إنعام بإنعام

For the utmost knowledge is favor for favor

The brave open-handed man resembles

إن الشجاع سخي الكف يشبهه

هما الشقيقان مقدام لمقدام

The two as faithful guardians for guardians

If faced with crisis, you will always find him

كلاهما ابدا إن أزمة عرضت

تجده للوطن المستبسل الحامي

For the nation, the self-sacrificing protector

If not victorious with the white swords

إن لم تكن بنصال البيض منتصرا

فاستخدم الصفر فهي خير خدام

Make use of the yellow, for they are the best servants

And do not be discouraged from supporting

ولا يصدك قل عن معاضدة

فالصفر ينطق منضما لأرقام

For joined together, zeros make numbers

Unity is like rain pouring down

الاتحاد كمثل الغيث هاطله

مذ جاد من نقط بالعارض الهامي

Once it flows from drops on high

Without unity, eminent personalities

الاتحاد ولولاه لما برزت

في العالم الحيوي أشخاص أجرام

Would not have emerged in the lively world

Say: it is the secret of existence

قل فهو حينئذ سر الوجود وما

أدراك ما السر فاعلم فضله السامي

And what can tell you what sublime grace it has?

There has been no nation without it having

ما كان في أمة إلا وكان لها

شأن تخر له أعناق أقوام

A status making nations bow their necks

I do not lack the will to stir your resolve

ما أعوزتني الى استنهاضكم همم

فأنتم اليوم غرس زهره نام

For you are today blossoming youth

Continue to rouse your spirit

دوموا على السير في استنهاض همتكم

فلا سعادة في الدنيا بإحجام

For no happiness in life with hesitation
