On the day of a banquet I prepared

For the respected leader

وتلوتها قافية

ملئت قوافيها حكم

And I recited with rhymes

Filled with wisdom in the rhymes

فيها أقول مفاخرا

تعطى المكارم في الكرم

In it I say proudly

Generosity gives generosity in generosity

وسرت بها الركبان فه

ي اليوم أشهر من علم

And it became well-known, so it

Is today more famous than a flag

حيث اعتقلت لأجلها

في عدة القمر الأتم

Since I was imprisoned for it

During several dark moons
