هبّت الصبا فصبا
لا جناح لا عتبا

للصبابة السببا

ما أرق خطرته
كهربا بها انجذبا
How gentle its movement was
Like a live wire attracted
ألقح الهواء هوى
في النفوس واعجبا
The air fell in love
Fascinating the souls
لا عذول يعذلني
في الهوى ولا رقبا
No denial denies me
In love, nor a neck
شب في الحشا لفح
منه شد ما التهبا
It lit in the darkness a flame
From it, what was ignited burned
لا أقول عذبني
بل أقول قد عذبا
I do not say it sweetened me
Rather, I say it made sweet
طاب لي به أرج
بين سبب وربى
Its scent was good to me
Between reason and nurture
رحت في مجاهلها
سالكا لها حدبا
I walked in its ignorance
Traversing it, a hill
قام فوق أيكته ال
عندليب منتصبا
Above its cliffs, a
Nightingale standing erect
رق لي فشنف بالش
دو جاره الجنبا
It softened to me, so I sang with joy
Its neighbor, the side
بينما أنا ثمل
منتش به طربا
While I was intoxicated
Reveling in it happily
غذ تسربت قطع
من شوارد لظبا
Some gazelles passed by
One after another, gracefully
تذرع الفلاة خطى
تلو بعضها خببا
The wilderness clothed itself
Spreading out playfully
تملأ الفضاء مرحا
تبسط الشجى لعبا
It embroidered lines
Adorning them with gems
دبجت خطوط خطى
طرزّت بها الكثبا
The noble one made them jewelry
Golden, handcrafted
صاغها الأصيل حلى
عسجديّة ذهبا
Above every turn
A cup, overflowing
فوق كل منعطف
كأس قرقف سكبا
The gazelle fell into
The refuge of the gazelles, fleeing
أهوت الغزالة في
مكنس الظبا هربا
A river, unveiling the veils
Shone towards its sunset
لاح نحو مغربها
نيرٌ جلا الحجبا
I said hello to it
Good fortune has come near
قلت مرحبا بهلا
ل السعادة اقتربا
Opening the sanctuary
Of the best you will see in time
فاتح المحرم من
خير ما ترى حقبا
So it is right, when
Our leader deserved wishes
فالأحق حينئذ
بالهناء إذ وجبا
The most generous of people, noble
He whose manners have risen
الأمير ناصرنا
أكرم الورى حسبا
Literarily, to the position of literature
My words shine with him
من له ارتقى أدبي
في منصّة الأدبا
Like shooting stars in his sky
Intoxicated is my pen
أشرقت به كلمي
من سمائه شهبا
That has long been dry
Ask his pulpits
أسكر النهى قلمي
جير طالما خلبا
He is the most eloquent speaker
You who asked, you will find
إيه سل منابره
فهو أخطب الخطبا
Signs that he wrote
None complained of
أيها سألت تجد
آيها التي كتبا
Illness, nor fatigue
You will not find in his poetry
ما اشتكى القريض به
علّة ولا نصبا
Deviation or breach
Seeing good where
لم تجده في سبب
للزحاف مرتكبا

في الذي يرى حسنا
لا تراه مجتنبا

غاص فيه منسرحا
تارة ومقتضبا

إنه الخلاصة من
آل بيته النقبا

يمتطي بها السحبا

أقبلت تبشرنا
حيث حظنا ولبا
Joy with it is vast

حيت الأمير بما
يبتغيه مطلبا
Drinking its pure water
Peace accompanies it
مرحبا بطلعتها
فالهنا بها رحبا
Always accompanying
And happiness leads it
كلنا بها جذل
نخب صفوها شربا
Trailing behind it
And the King, our leader
السلام يصحبها
لن يزال مصطحبا
Desired accepting it
Tunisia dates it
والسرور رائدها
ضمن ذيلها انسحبا

في قبولها رغبا
