يا مفخر البيت الحسي
ني التونسي الزاهر
O pride of the glorious Hashemi house
O you the flourishing Tunisian
خلقت ذكرك باقة
في وسط روض عاطر
Your mention created a bouquet
In the midst of a fragrant garden
ودخلت جنات النعي
م دخول حر ظافر
And you entered the gardens of bliss
With the entrance of a bold horseman
كل يقدر ما صنع
ته شاكرا عن شاكر
Everyone appreciates what he did
Thankful over thankfulness
شرعا نؤرخ مولدا
لك في الزمان الغابر
Lawfully we date your birth
In times past
أيام حكمك سبعة
من بعد عام عاشر
Your reign lasted seven years
After the tenth year
فيها جمعت قلوبنا
بيد الحكيم الماهر
In it you united our hearts
With the hand of the wise master
وملكت أفئدة الورى
لطفا بقلب طاهر
And you owned the hearts of people
With a pure heart
هذا وفي السبعين قد
لبيت صوت القاهر
This is it, and in the seventies
The Victorious Lord called upon you
لاقيت في ذي القعدة ال
مولى بوجه نائر
You met Him in Dhu al-Qi'dah
With an angry face
ولسان حالك قائل
ماذا يقوله شاعري
And your tongue's state was saying
What does my poet say about me?
فأجبته مسترحما
والدمع ملء محاجري
So I answered Him seeking mercy
With tears filling my eyelids
هذا فقيد بلادنا ال
خضرا ولا من ناكر
This is the loss of our land
Neither green nor denier
هو درة في تاجهم
خلابة للناظر
He is a pearl in their crown
Pleasing to the onlooker
زان الإمارة عطفه
أحبب به من آمر
His kindness adorned leadership
Those ruled loved him
ترك المآثر في الضما
ئر وهي خير مآثر
He left landmarks in history
Which are the best landmarks
ايا سألت ظفرت عن
بحر بفضله زاخر
If you asked, you found of his grace
An abundant ocean
سحر العقول بلطفه
أكرم به من ساحر
He captivated minds with his kindness
Honored people with his generosity
ننسى ولا ننساه في ال
يوم العصيب الحاشر
We don't forget him nor forget him
On the painful, remorseful day
مذ قيل ألقى التاج صا
حبه بكف الساخر
When it was said, hand over the crown
To the grip of the defiant one
يرجو كأمته العدا
لة يا لهذا العاذر
Hoping, like his nation, for justice
Oh this transgression!
أبدى نواياه ببا
طن حاله والظاهر
He showed his intentions openly
His state and the obvious
يكفي اسمه لمؤرخ
هذا الأمير الناصري
His name suffices the historian
This victorious Emir
