ألا انعم أيها النادي

بذكرى مولد الهادي

Rejoice, oh gathering assembly,

At the remembrance of the Guide’s birth.

لقد جئناك ورادا

على آثار وراد

We have come to you as thirsty seekers,

Following the tracks of those who came before.

وقمنا في مسرات

وأفراح وأعياد

We stood amidst delights,

Amidst joys and festivities.

نحيي خير مولود

بدا في خير ميلاد

We salute the best of all newborns,

Who appeared in the finest of births.

نحيي سيدا في الخلـ

ـق متبوعا بأسياد

We salute a Master among all creation,

A leader followed by noble masters.

نحيي مرشدا لم يبـ

ـغ منهم أجر إرشاد

We salute a Guide who never sought,

From them, any wage for his guidance.

نحيي داعي الحسنى

نحيي راعي الضاد

We salute the Summoner to Virtue,

We salute the Guardian of the Arabic Tongue.

نحيي المصطفى المختا

ر آباء لأجداد

We salute the Chosen, the Select,

A forefather to great ancestors.

نحيي منه أخلاقا

زكيات كأوراد

We salute in him a character,

Pure and scented like blossoms.

نحيي منه أمجادا

منوطات بأمجاد

We salute in him glories,

Linked together with other glories.

نحيي شرعه الوضا

ح مثل الشمس في الراد

We salute his luminous Law,

Bright as the sun in the morning light.

نحيي عصره الممتا

ز في يمن وإسعاد

We salute his distinguished era,

In its prosperity and joy.

بحفل حف في جنببـ

ـه أجواد بأجواد

In a celebration whose sides are hemmed,

By the generous among the generous.

وركب ممعن الأشوا

ق فيها رائح غادي

And a caravan deep in longing,

Restless within it, pacing to and fro.

سقاك الله من ركب

مشوق للهدى صاد

May God water you, oh caravan,

Yearning for guidance, thirsty.

به الأمال والأعما

ل رحل والهوى حاد

Upon it, hopes and deeds are the saddle,

And passion is the camel-driver.

تلاقت فيه أكباد

شجيات بأكباد

In it, hearts met,

Sorrowful hearts meeting others.

ورنت فيه أصوات

رخيمات كأعواد

And voices resonated within it,

Melodious like the strings of lutes.

ورحنا منه في ذكر

وتطريب وإنشاد

We departed from it in remembrance,

In rapture and in chant.

كسرب من كرام الطـ

ـر فوق الدوح غراد

Like a flock of noble birds,

Singing atop the great tree.

رحلنا رحلة فيها

خرقنا كل معتاد

We traveled a journey wherein,

We broke through every habit.

طوينا الأرض والأجيا

ل أبعادا لأبعاد

We folded up the earth and the generations,

Distances upon distances.

وجئنا مكة الفضلى

فجسناها كرواد

And we came to virtuous Mecca,

Exploring it like scouts.

ألا يا وادي الكعبـ

ـة لا أقفرت من واد

Oh Valley of the Kaaba,

May you never be desolate of a visitor.

قد ازدادت بد النعمى

لطفل فيك مزداد

Blessings have increased through you,

For a child born within you.

كريم طبعه سمح

كمثل الغصن مياد

Noble in nature, tolerant,

Swaying like the willow branch.

من الاثام معصوم

إلى الطاعات منقاد

Infallible, protected from sins,

Led naturally towards obedience.

عن الأحساب والأنسا

ب والأعراض ذواد

Defending lineages and ancestries,

And a protector of honor.

نفى ما ساد فوق الأر

ض من شرك والحاد

He banished what prevailed on earth,

Of polytheism and atheism.

سما ذكرا أبوه عنـ

ـد أعراب وأكراد

His father rose high in repute,

Among Arabs and Kurds alike.

ونالت أمه ما لم

تنله أم أولاد

And his mother attained what was not,

Attained by any mother of children.

وفخر النسل فخر الأصـ

ـل في محص وتنقاد

The pride of the offspring is the pride of the root,

In scrutiny and critical choice.

وهل تفرد أسياف

بحمل دون أغماد

Are swords ever singled out,

To be worn without scabbards?

ألا يا حبذا ذكرى

أقمناها لميعاد

Oh, how wonderful is a memory,

We established for an appointed time.

بها نستعرض التاريـ

ـخ من خاف ومن باد

Through it we review history,

Of those who feared and those who perished.

سلوا التاريخ عن بر

رحيم للورى فادي

Ask history about a righteous man,

Merciful to mankind, a redeemer.

سلوا التاريخ عن طود

تعالى فوق أطواد

Ask history about a towering mountain,

That rose above all other peaks.

سلوا التاريخ عن أرض

حماها من يد العادي

Ask history about a land,

Which he protected from the aggressor's hand.

سلوا عن دولة الإسـ

ـلام كم باهت بأجناد

Ask about the State of Islam,

How it boasted of its armies.

فكم فيهم من الخيل

جواد تحت جواد

How many horses were among them,

A noble steed beneath a noble rider.

وكم فيهم من الرجل

رجالات كأساد

And how many men were among them,

Men like lions.

وكم سادوا بإحسان

وكم جادوا بأرفاد

How they ruled with benevolence,

And how they gave with generosity.

وكم رددت الدنيا

صداهم أي ترداد

And how often the world echoed,

Their resonance—what an echo!

سلوا عن دولة الشام

سلوا عن ملك بغداد

Ask about the Umayyad State,

Ask about the Kingdom of Baghdad.

حضارات فواش في

جماعات وأفراد

Civilizations spreading among,

Groups and individuals.

وسلطان شديد البأ

س لم يمنح لشداد

And a mighty authority,

Not granted even to Shaddad.

وحكم ضارب كالسيـ

ـل أسدادا بأسداد

And a rule striking like a torrent,

Breaking dams with dams.

وأفراح لنا في الدهـ

ـر ما شيبت بأنكاد

And joys we had in time,

That were not tainted by miseries.

وأعراس لنا في الأر

ض لا تحصى بتعداد

And weddings we had on earth,

That cannot be counted by numbers.

سحاها الدهر كالبحر

بأمواج وأزباد

Time swept them away like the sea,

With waves and foam.

فأودى شاطئ الخلد

وأودى طيره الشادي

So the shore of eternity perished,

And its singing bird perished.

وخر الروض أعوادا

على أنقاض أعواد

And the garden collapsed into sticks,

Upon the ruins of other sticks.

تعالى الله كم أعقـ

ـب إعداما بإيجاد

Exalted is God! How often He follows,

Non-existence with creation.

فردوا مجد ماضيكم

وحوطوه بأرصاد

So restore the glory of your past,

And guard it with vigilance.

وقوا أنفسكم نا

ر عداوات وأحقاد

And save yourselves from the fire,

Of enmities and hatreds.

يزيد الخصم أيقادا

لها من بعد إيقاد

The adversary increases its fuel,

Kindling after kindling.

أتنشقون أضدادا

وما أنتم بأضداد؟

Do you split into factions,

When you are not true opposites?

فلستم غيرأعضاء

على الإصلاح أعضاد

You are nothing but limbs,

Supporting arms for reform.

أجيبوا كل إبراق

من الباغي بإرعاد

Answer every flash of lightning,

From the oppressor with thunder.

ولا تعنوا لظلام

ولا تحنوا لجلاد

Do not bow to a tyrant,

And do not stoop for an executioner.

بغت واستكبرت عاد

ولم تغلب أخا عاد

The tribe of 'Ad transgressed and turned arrogant,

Yet they did not conquer the Brother of 'Ad.

دعا الله فلباه

بإنجاء وإنجاد

He called upon God and He answered him,

With salvation and reinforcement.

وكفوا الفكر عن ميل

إلى الفوضى واخلاد

And restrain the mind from inclining,

Toward chaos and sloth.

وقيسوا الأمر إصدارا

من الدنيا بإيراد

And measure the matter's outcome,

By what you invest into it.

أعدوا نشأكم للخيـ

ـر فيها خير إعداد

Prepare your youth for the good,

In it, with the best preparation.

أنط يا شعب من ديـ

ـنك أطنابا بأوتاد

Tie, oh people, from your religion,

Tent ropes to sturdy pegs.

وهيء مثل ما هيـ

ـأ حزب الله من زاد

And prepare just as,

God’s party prepared provisions.

وسر في إثرهم سيرا

قويما غير مناد

And march in their footsteps, a march,

That is straight, not called astray.

ألا فليحي حزب اللـ

ـه في نصر وإمداد

Oh, long live the Party of God,

In victory and support.

ألا فليحي دين اللـ

ـه آمادا لأماد

Oh, long live the Religion of God,

For ages upon ages.
