جار الشباب على القيم

ورمى الشرائع بالتهم

The youth have turned away from virtue

Youth has transgressed against values,

And accused moral laws of defects

And cast accusations upon the sacred laws,

وأبى النصيحة تابعا

لهواه يخبط في الظلم

Refusing advice, following

Refusing counsel, following instead

Their passions into darkness

Their own whims, stumbling through the darkness.

ويح الشباب من الهوى

إن الهوى فيه احتكم

Alas for youth misled by desire!

Woe unto youth because of caprice,

For in desire lies misjudgment

For desire has taken dominion over them.

هجر الهدى وسبيله

وعلى الغوايات ازدحم

They have abandoned righteousness

Abandoning guidance and its path,

Crowding the paths of error

While crowding upon the ways of error.

أين الشباب ووعيه

ونشاطه مهما عزم؟

Where is the youth and his awareness?

Where is the youth and their awareness,

His vigor, however resolute?

And their vigor whenever they resolved to act?

أين الشباب المهتدي

إني هتفت به فلم

Where is the rightly-guided youth?

Where is the rightly guided youth?

I cried out to him but he answered not

I called out to them, yet they did not respond.

ثب يا شباب إلى الهدى

إن الضلال عليك عم

Take a stand, O youth, for guidance

Return, O youth, to the path of guidance,

Straying surely encompasses you

For error has spread its darkness over you.

الدين عاصمك الذي

ينفي هواك بما عصم

Religion is your protection

Religion is your safeguard which

Banishing passions that corrupt

Repels your whims through its protection.

مل للمتاب مسارعا

واجنح له قبل الندم

Turn to it, repenting

Turn quickly toward repentance,

Incline to it before regret

And embrace it before the arrival of regret.

من ظن أن الدين من

خور النفوس فقد وهم

Who supposes religion to be

Whoever thinks that faith stems from

The ruin of souls is deluded

Weakness of the soul is truly deluded.

تبكي السعادة آيسا

وتظن معناها انعدم

Bliss weeps in despair

You weep for happiness in despair,

Thinking its meaning lost

Thinking its very meaning has ceased to exist.

إن السعادة في حمى الـ

إيمان راسخة القدم

Bliss lies in the fortress of

True happiness lies within the sanctuary of

Unshakable faith

Faith, standing steadfast and firm.

إن السعادة نعمة الـ

إسلام وهو أبو النعم

Bliss is the blessing of

Happiness is the blessing of

Islam, best of blessings

Islam, the very father of blessings.

أقبل عليه فإنه

دين به سعد الأمم

Embrace it, for it

Turn towards it, for it is

Brings joy to nations

A faith through which nations find their joy.
