ومنظر حسن للقلب فتان

How much beauty in Constantine's buildings

How many beautiful structures exist in Constantine,

And pleasing sights for the heart's delight

And views of beauty that captivate the heart.

ومن بساتين خضر في جوانبها

كالعقد تصطف بستانا لبستان

And from its green gardens on all sides

With green orchards flanking its sides,

Like necklaces, gardens lined up next to gardens

Lined up like a necklace, garden upon garden.

ومن مبان بها للجو شامخة

ومن عيون بها تجري ووديان

And from its towering structures reaching the sky

And buildings within it towering high into the air,

And from its springs flowing with streams

And flowing springs and valleys found therein.

مهما نزلت بها ضيفا رأيت بها

ما سرني من فنون ذات ألوان

No matter who visits as a guest, they'll find

Whenever I stayed there as a guest, I beheld

Wondrous arts of varied hues that please me

Delightful varieties of colorful arts.

قد زرت (مطبعة البعث) التي اشتهرت

فيها بذوق وإبدل وإتقان

I visited the Baath Press, well-known

I visited the 'Al-Ba'ath' Press, which has become renowned

For its taste, creation, and skill

For its taste, innovation, and mastery.

وطاب لي ولإخواني بزورتها

أن ليس يعمل فيها غير إخواني

My visit with my brothers was a joy

It pleased me and my brethren during our visit,

For only my brothers work inside

To find that none work there but our own brothers.

من سابقين بها امتازوا بتجربة

ومن كهول ذوي حزم وشبان

Veterans distinguished by experience

Veterans among them, distinguished by experience,

And elders of wisdom and youth

And resolute middle-aged men alongside the youth.

مسخرين لآلات مكهربة

كأن اجراءها اعضاء إنسان

Harnessing electrified machines

Harnessing electrified machines,

As if their workings are human limbs

Whose moving parts function like human limbs.

تسعى كأبرع ساع غير وانية

في السعي مزرية بالعامل الواني

Striving tirelessly like the diligent

Running like the most skilled courier, never tiring,

In service, nourishing the toiling worker

Putting the sluggish worker to shame with its pace.

ما كان يصنعه الصناع في مدد

شتى تقدمه للناس في الآن

What crafters once made in days long

What artisans used to craft over long spans of time,

Is offered now to people in an instant

It presents to the people in a mere instant.

قام (الزبير) عليها حازما يقظا

وافتن فيها يدا خطاطها (الهاني)

Al-Zubair built it, resolute and alert

Al-Zubair oversees it, resolute and vigilant,

And Al-Hani adorned it with his calligraphy

While the hand of its calligrapher, Al-Hani, displayed masterful art.

وزان مكتبها (عبد الحميد) بما

يرضي الزبائن من حسن وإحسان

And Abdul-Hamid balanced its accounts with

And Abdul Hamid adorned its office with that

Satisfaction for patrons with goodness and favor

Which satisfies clients through kindness and excellence.

ولست أنسى لهم فضل الصنيع بما

أبدوه من حزمهم في طبع ديواني

I cannot forget their kindness in printing

I shall not forget the favor of their deed,

My volume with their prudent care

Shown by their resolve in printing my poetry collection.

لقد بنوها لبعث الشعب مطبعة

تحيي مآثره والمجد للباني

They built it to revive the people's heritage

They built this press for the renaissance of the people,

And glorify their achievements for the builder

Reviving their heritage; and glory belongs to the builder.
