A new dawn has begun
A new triumph has dawned / In the opening of the School of Guidance.
With the opening of Al-Huda School
Glad tidings to El Kantara, which has risen high, / And cultivated a rightly-guided youth.
Good tidings for El Kantara that grew
They flattened the rugged path towards glory, / So it became smooth and paved.
And nurtured wise youth
With a resolve that humbles the towering peaks before them / And draws the distant goals near.
They strode to greatness and paved
Glory is the handiwork of masters; / What they have wrought was not wasted in vain.
Its path, leveling the rugged
It has appeared inscribed upon / The tablet of time, immortalized forever.
With determination they aimed for the highest
For their dignity and for their rising generation, / We have come to inaugurate this institute.
And brought closer the furthest goals
In its luminous horizon, Abd al-Latif / Has become a guiding star.
The glory of the work of gentlemen
He kindled the intelligence of the Qantari people / With his knowledge, setting it ablaze.
Is not lost or done in vain
He watered and guarded his saplings / With the spring of youth, so they ascended high.
Their manuscript has appeared
He shielded the sons with guidance, / And sought the aid of his brother, Al-Amin.
Immortalized on the tablet of time
He who takes Al-Amin as his helping hand / And follows his lead shall never fail.
We came to inaugurate an institute
Salute the sons in a free institute / That stands as a lion's den.
To continue their work and that of their progeny
For today they are cubs within its walls, / And tomorrow they shall be fierce lions.
Abdullatif with his clear horizons
By God’s leave, they shall possess a history / That far surpasses its beginning.
Has settled to rest
Nature has displayed in El Kantara / Her beauty, unveiled and pure.
El Kantara’s intellect shone
A tableau of ancient artistry / In which the Almighty displayed unique creation.
With his knowledge igniting
Its breaths diffuse such fragrance / That they would revive the buried dead.
He watered his planting with
As though the breath of the Son of Mary / Flowed through it at dawn and dusk.
The spring of youth ascending
You see life unrolling simply there, / Free from all complexity.
He protected the children, guided
The man of El Kantara is a child of nature, / Seeking only to find happiness.
And the Trustworthy helped
Thus he tended to nature, / Drawing from it both gain and sustenance.
Whoever takes the Trustworthy
You behold the gardens, lush and green, / Moistened by the morning dew.
As a hand and follows him cannot go wrong
You see the branches bending there, / Swaying and oscillating gently.
Long live the children with their institute
They danced to the melody of the zephyr / A dance that would stir the solid rock.
Embodying great ambitions
And you see the streams surrounding it, / Flowing endlessly across the land.
They are saplings today in it
The water turns to silver within them, / And transforms into pure gold.
And mighty oaks tomorrow, God willing
As if the sound of its murmuring / Were the voice of the nightingale in song.
Nature has shown its beauty in El Kantara
The sound of the waters as they flow / Consoles the sorrowful, grieving heart.
Stripped of all veils
Perhaps it harmonized with David's Psalms / And chanted its hymn.
An ancient drawing tablet
Perhaps it taught al-Gharid how to sing, / And instructed Ma'bad in melody.
Unique with the Master's mark
You see the palm trees scattered about, / Or arranged in orderly rows.
Its soul revived with its fragrance
Resembling an army at the frontier, / Lying in wait for the enemy.
Bringing life to the atheist
You see the mountains in their might, / Witnesses since the era of Adam.
As if the soul of Ibn Miriam
We are the mountains, sons of the mountains; / The echo of the peaks has spurred us on.
Found refuge and settled in it
A caravan journeying toward knowledge, / Traversing both lowlands and highlands in its stride.
And you see life has spread
Whoever seeks to inflict harm upon us / Has surely assaulted the mountains themselves.
Never to be stifled again
And whoever scorns us scorns them, / And destruction shall descend upon him.
And El Kantara's son seeks
There is no fear of the road’s darkness, / For we have made the destination clear.
To bring it joy and benefit
Al-Bashir came bearing tidings to the blind, / So they regained sight and found the way.
Therefore he harnessed nature
The people of Algeria, with all their hearts, / Have shown their love to Al-Bashir.
Gaining and taking advantage
Whoever sacrifices for the beloved homeland— / We shall be a sacrifice for him.
You see gardens verdant
O people, race towards righteous deeds, / And extend a hand of benevolence.
Green, moistened by dew
For I see you unrecognized among the nations, / Living in misery and distress.
You see branches bent
Quicken your pace, for he who lives / In dependence shall live enslaved.
Swaying gently, gently
Abandon division, for it has / Estranged companions and scattered them.
Dancing to the rhythm of the breeze
Forsake caprice, for caprice is, / Among your foes, the very worst enemy.
Shaking even mountains
Let the guidance of Islam rule; / You will please God and please Muhammad.
You see streams around it
Follow in the footsteps of the Rightly Guided, / Those who bow and prostrate in prayer.
Flowing far and wide
The voice of the lofty heavens / Echoes in the voice of the guides.
The water becomes silver
Whoever answers their call / Shall attain eternal bliss.
Tranquil and polished
As if the sound of its burbling
Is the sound of thousands, when provoked
The sound of water flowing
Comforts the heated heart
Perhaps it came inspired
By the Psalms, chanting
Perhaps it led the soil
To sing, making it a temple
You see palm trees scattered
Fruitful around it
Like an army confronting
The enemy lying in wait
You see mountains, ancient
Since Adam's time, witnesses

Violated us, so ruin befell him

No fear of injustice on the path
We have made clear the destination

Al-Bashir came with good news
So the blind saw and found guidance
