Blessed is Nasr with heroic deeds, witnessed
Blessed is a victory witnessed by heroic deeds,
And Eid has returned with the prince, the fighter
And a festival in which the struggling Prince has returned.
Blessed is the victory day, it has returned with a sign
Blessed is the festival of victory that returned with a miracle,
Like the sign of Jesus, undisputed today
Like the miracle of Jesus, which none can deny today.
The remains of the noble departed from death
The remains of a noble soul departing from death,
And the great dead returned to life
And a great departed one returning to life.
The remains on a bier, though you describe
Remains upon a bier, yet if you described them
A king on a throne, you are not mistaken
As a king upon a throne, you would not be straying from the truth.
I see the auspicious rising united us
I see that the auspicious fortune has united our ranks
With our supreme leader, and the estrangement has failed
Through our Supreme Leader, while the divider has failed.
Oh eras of pride and glory, come
O eras of pride and glory, come forth,
And bring back Abdelkader today returning
And return, for Abdelkader is returning today.
He has returned carried high on glory
He has returned, borne high upon heads,
With hands pledging allegiance and arms protecting
Pledged allegiance by hands and protected by strong arms.
And all eyes gaze at him, so he rode
Every eye gazes upon him, for his procession
Envied for it, coveted and resented
Is a rivalry between the envied and the envier.
And the nation greeted alive, he lived
He greeted, and an Arab state greeted him in return,
As the home welcomes the worshipper
Just as he had hoped and pleaded for its resurrection.
It thundered with Takbeer from all sides
Its revolutionary leader leads his procession,
As thunder roared in the horizon with clouds
And its Revolutionary Council paves the way for security.
So hello and welcome to the prince gloriously
And from its Popular Army stands a trustworthy guard
Protecting him, dear, and time an ally
For the procession, a protector supporting the order.
And hello and welcome, you are the most generous visitor
Rendering salutes with arms, while above him
To us, who in this age is like you, a visitor?
A crescent banner ascends into the sky.
And hello and welcome, your land today is free
It flutters in welcome to him, dancing,
Your army victorious and your people guided
Joyful with the good tidings, overcome with ecstasy.
For you, a revolution has passed in Algeria's land
The people hastened to receive him, magnifying God,
Our history boasts of it and glories
Revering him as a worshiper reveres the Holy House.
It provoked the invaders with fierce raids
The chants of greatness resound from every side,
And havoc with campaigns you lead
As thunderous clouds resound across the horizon.
And entered the battle's fray defending the religion
Welcome to the Prince who honors us,
Enduring its afflictions that you endured
His sanctuary is mighty, and time is favorable.
So you found in it, Nasir al-Din, an adornment
Welcome, for you are the noblest guest
With it in the field of courage, your father armed you
To come to us; who in this age is a guest like you?
And many a field of knighthood you have graced
Welcome, your land is free today,
And under you, a hunting ground for lions
Your army is victorious, and your people are rightly guided.
You charged through it like an arrow above it leaping
You led a revolution in the land of Algeria
Frightening the critic of valor, appraising you
Of which our history boasts and glorifies.
And many a position for negotiation you took
You launched fierce raids against the invaders,
Your word heard and your opinion prevailing
With might in campaigns that you commanded.
You reached with it the peace you sought, but plots
You plunged into the depths of war to support the faith,
Soured it with your opinion, though ambitions resisted
Enduring its woes as only you could endure.
If surrendering dragged on, wounding us
Thus you earned the title "Defender of the Faith,"
The liberation front would bandage the wound
An ornament with which your father adorned you in the field of valor.
You were its leader in yesterday's revolution
Many a field of horsemanship you traversed,
And you are its pioneer in today's revolution!
With a strong steed beneath you, a hunter of wild game.
Your banner tied to its same banner
You shot through on it like an arrow, leaping high,
It has none but your jihad binding it
Feared by every foe who judges horsemanship.
You alone are two sultans, past and present
Many a negotiation table you presided over,
And two glories in life, charming and lasting
Where your word was heard and your opinion prevailed.
The revolutionary council regarded your covenant
You achieved the peace you sought to reach
For your return, a day whose memory is immortal
Through your judgment, yet plots and schemes muddied its waters.
It returned you honored to the beloved homeland
You stood firm, but stumbling fortune betrayed you;
As a sword returns to its sheath, polished
It hindered you, and your goals became out of reach.
So you found in Algeria’s land a nation
If our wound festered long due to your bitter surrender,
That has slept, and in its hands are the reins of power
The Liberation Front has now come as a bandage for that wound.
It overthrew the rule of the tyrant and crushed
You were its leader in the revolution of yesterday,
His chains, and injustice inevitably vanished
And you are its pioneer in the revolution of today!
The usurper who exiled you with his tyranny has gone
Your banner is knotted with the very soul of its banner,
Like an arrogant tyrant who thought you were finished
And nothing binds it but your holy struggle.
It planted in it late ripening crops
Suffice it that you hold two authorities, past and present,
And here you are, in the aftermath, harvesting your crops
And two glories in this world, the new and the ancient.
The Revolutionary Council honored your covenant and chose
For your return a festival whose memory shall be eternal.
It returned you to the beloved homeland with honor,
As a warrior returns a sharp sword to its scabbard.
You found in the land of Algeria a nation
That you nurtured, now holding the reins of power in its own hands.
It overthrew the tyrant's rule and smashed
His chains, for injustice is bound to perish.
The usurper who exiled you with his tyranny has departed,
Just as the tyrant who thought you were finished has perished.
You planted a seed there whose fruit was delayed,
But here, in the end, you are harvesting what you planted.
