Heart yearns for reunion?

إنْ تـريْ أنـي حليمٌ

فَلْنُبــاركْ بالـعـناق

If you see that I am forbearing

If you see that I am patient

Let us then embrace in happiness

Then let us bless it with an embrace

أنتِ من أبدى سروراً

نحـو صَـدٍّ في الـسباق

You who brought me true gladness

You are the one who showed joy

Towards aloofness in the race

In the race towards rejection

لم يعـدْ للشعر نـايٌ

مؤنـسٌ عـند الرفـاق

Poetry no longer has a flute

That gives comfort amongst friends

To offer solace among companions

هجرها أدمى فـؤادي

فهْيَ تسـعى للفـراق

Her estrangement pained my heart

Her abandonment has made my heart bleed

As she strives for separation

اسقني من شهـد صبٍر

نافـعٍ من كأسِ سـاق

Give me a drink from morning’s honey

Give me to drink from the nectar of patience

Useful from a proffered cup

Wholesome, from the cup of the cupbearer

منيتـي قـربٌ وودٌّ

واحـتـرامٌ للوفــاق

My wish is closeness, affection

My wish is for closeness and affection

And respect for reconciliation

And respect for our harmony

هل لـيومٍ من لقـاءٍ

أم أنـا في الحلم بـاق؟

Is there a day for us to meet
