1. مَنْ لِقَلْبِي بِشَادِنٍ

    لَمْ يُمَتَّعْ بِحَظِّهِ

    Who will come to my heart’s aid against a young gazelle,

    not yet granted the enjoyment of his share?

  2. قَدْ سَبَانِي بِطَرْفِهِ

    وَشَجَانِي بِلَفْظِهِ

    He has taken me captive with his gaze

    and grieved me with his words.

  3. كُلُّ شَيءٍ سَيَرْعَوِي

    غَيْرَ قَلْبِي وَلَحْظِهِ

    Everything will return,

    except my heart—and his glance.
