بِقَلْبِي لِلْهَوَى داءٌ عَجِيبُ

تَحَيَّرَ فِي تَلافِيهِ الطَّبِيبُ

My heart is stricken with a wondrous disease,

The doctor is confused as to how to cure it.

إِذا أَخْفَيْتُهُ أَبْلَى فُؤادِي

وَإِنْ أَظْهَرْتُهُ غَضِبَ الْحَبيبُ

If I hide it, it destroys my heart,

And if I reveal it, it angers my beloved.
