أَلا بِأَبِي مَنْ حُسْنُهُ وَحَدِيثُهُ
إِذَا مَا الْتَقَينَا لَذَّةُ الْعَيْنِ وَالسَّمْعِ
By the one whose beauty and conversation
Bring joy to my eyes and ears whenever we meet
رَأَى مُقْلَتِي تَرْعَى رِيَاضَ جَمَالِهِ
فَعَاقَبَهَا حَدَّيْنِ بِالسُّهْدِ وَالدَّمْعِ
My glances graze the meadows of his beauty
So he punishes them with cheeks wet with tears
