وَذِي وَجْهَيْنِ تَلْقَاهُ طَلِيقاً

مُحَيَّاهُ وَبَاطِنُهُ حَزِينُ

Two-faced, he appears cheerful

when he greets you, but sadness dwells within.

يُعَاطِيكَ الْمُنَى بِلَحَاظِ رِيمٍ

وَبَيْنَ ضُلُوعِهِ ضَبٌّ كَمِينُ

He feigns affection with coy glances,

yet between his ribs lurks a hidden asp.
