طَهِّرْ لِسَانَكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ وَلا تَكُنْ

خِبّاً يُقَرِّبُ لِلنُّفُوسِ ضَلالَهَا

Purify your tongue as much as you can, and do not be

A slanderer who draws souls nearer to their ruin.

إِنَّ الْوَقِيعَةَ لا تَعُودُ بِخِزْيَةٍ

أَوْ سُبَّةٍ إِلَّا عَلَى مَنْ قَالَهَا

Verily an insult returns not in disgrace

Or abuse, except upon the one who uttered it.
