1. يَا رُبَّ بَيْضَاءَ مِنَ الْجَوَارِي

    جَاءَتْ بِطِفْلٍ أَسْوَدٍ كَالْقَارِ

    O Lord, a fair maid of noble race

    Bore a child as black as coal in place;

  2. أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ لُجَّةِ الأَنْوَارِ

    مَنْ أَخْرَجَ اللَّيْلَ مِنَ النَّهارِ

    From out the sunshine he was brought to be,

    He who brought night out of light's company;

  3. سُبْحَانَهُ مِنْ فَاعِلٍ مُخْتَارِ

    Glory to Him, th'Almighty Artisan!
