1. بَلَوْتُ إِخَاءَ النَّاسِ دَهْرَاً فَلَمْ أَجِدْ

    أَخَا ثِقَةٍ يَرْعَى مَغِيبِي كَمَحْضَرِي

    I tested people's brotherhood for ages, but found no

    trustworthy friend to tend to my absence like my presence.

  2. فَإِنْ أَتَغَيَّرْ عَنْ وِدَادٍ فَإِنَّنِي

    أَرَى كُلَّ شَيءٍ عُرْضَةً لِلتَّغَيُّرِ

    So if their affection changes, I know that everything

    is prone to alteration.
