1. الْحُبُّ مَعْنَىً لا يُحِيطُ بِسِرِّهِ

    وَصْفٌ وَلا يَجْرِي عَلَيْهِ مِثَالُ

    Love has a meaning beyond comprehension,

    A description beyond imagery.

  2. كَالْكَهْرَبَاءَةِ دَرْكُهَا مُتَعَذِّرٌ

    وَنَسِيمُهَا مَتَحَدِّرٌ سَيَّالُ

    Like electricity, grasping it is difficult,

    Its breeze flows rapidly.

  3. وَكَذَلِكَ الأَرْوَاحُ يَظْهَرُ فِعْلُهَا

    وَيَغِيبُ عَنَّا سِرُّهَا الْفَعَّالُ

    Thus too are spirits, their actions appear,

    Yet their mystery remains concealed.

  4. حِكَمٌ تَمَلَّكَهَا الْغُمُوضُ فَلَمْ يُحِطْ

    بِرُمُوزِهَا فِي الْعَالَمِينَ مَقَالُ

    Wisdom has been possessed by obscurity,

    No words in the world encompass its secrets.
